BREAKING: U.S. Officials Confirm Iran Shot Down the Ukrainian Airliner

And there it is.

As I wrote this morning, Iran’s reporting on what happened to the Ukrainian airliner that “crashed” shortly after Iran’s military launched missile attacks into Iraq never made any sense.

Here are a few excerpts from my piece and streiff’s article, which both detail why the explanations given were so stupid, as well as all the sketchy things Iran was doing in the aftermath.

Having experience in this area, I laid out some facts about how jet engines work and why the claims of “overheating” causing a massive, catastrophic explosion, overtaking the entire plane within six seconds, are nonsense.

Further, jet engines are not like piston engines. They do not “overheat” in the traditional sense. The hot section can overheat, but it will not “explode” into a fireball. If the engine does fail due to excessive temperatures, the force of the turbine blades suddenly stopping will cause them to throw debris, but that’s about it. We actually saw a 737 land safely after doing this last year, but the picture most have of an overheating engine blowing an entire 737 up within a few seconds is simply not possible.

Again, this leaves very few explanations left except that a missile hit it and now the Ukrainians are starting to see that as a possibility.

Here’s streiff on the flight path and lack of radio communications.

More and more, though, the crash of PS752 is looking like a shootdown.

For instance, these are the tracks for the aircraft from takeoff until it disappeared from radar

There was no MAYDAY call from the aircraft. Everything was routine until the plane disappeared from radar and reappeared on the ground. And (h/t to Brandon’s excellent article) there is more evidence that says this was no accident.

Later, I posted about how Iran is bulldozing the crash site and claims the black boxes were “damaged.” None of it make any sense and the Ukrainians finally decided to entertain the possibility that it was shot down this morning.

Now, the U.S. is getting involved as multiple officials are reporting that the Pentagon is confident the plane was indeed blown out of the sky by an Iranian surface to air missile.

Things are about to get a lot more complicated for those who’ve been looking to appease Iran. That includes Canada’s Justin Trudeau, who rushed to accept Iran’s ridiculous findings just hours after 63 Canadians perished in the crash. The EU is also going to have to deal with this directly now, unable to continue to pretend Iran is blameless.

I get being cautious, but there was no excuse for the U.S. media to black out this story and blindly publish Iran’s propaganda on it the last two days. It was clear just hours after the incident that nothing Iran was saying made sense and that this plane was likely shot down. Yet, in order to protect the Mullahs and continue to bash Trump, the media just stopped reporting on this story. They can’t do so any longer and this is gonna blow up into a major ordeal.
