NEW: FBI Was Aware the Main Source for the Trump-Russia Conspiracy Was a Liar, They Used Him Anyway

You can begin to see the pattern forming over the past few days of reports. More and more we are finding out that FBI had bright red lights in their face when it came to the Steele dossier and they just blew threw the intersection anyway.

A few days ago, I reported on the fact that FBI was made aware of a key falsity in the Steele dossier. Namely, that it claimed the Russians were using the “Miami consulate” to funnel money for their grand scheme. The problem? The Russians don’t have a consulate in Miami. This was flagged for the FBI by a State Dept. official before the FISA warrant was applied for. They ignored it and moved forward with the dossier as their primary evidence anyway.

Things just got a lot worse on that front.

So not only had this source lied about the Russians using a consulate in Miami to fund their interference, he was also the “key source” for the charge of an “extensive” conspiracy between Trump and Russia. This guy obviously got around.

Here’s the relevant documents.

And it turns out that “Source E” is the same guy who made the claims about the “pee tape” and collusion between Trump and Russia.

This whole thing is a dumpster fire

At the point where “Source E” was shown to have lied about something as obvious as the Miami issue, the FBI should have backed up and thought about his credibility. Instead, they decided to believe him about ridiculous tales of pee tapes. That tells you all you need to know about the mindset of the investigators (including James Comey) at the time. They were so desperate to pursue their narrative about Trump that they didn’t even notice the glaring lack of credibility punching them in the face. Getting that “insurance policy” setup was the goal, not actually following the evidence where it led, or more aptly, stopping when it led nowhere.

What we are seeing here is the revelation that the FBI/DOJ never even attempted to actually verify the dossier. They simply took Steele’s word for it and rolled with it because it fit their political biases. There’s no other logical explanation for their behavior. The dossier itself was screaming at them that it was pure garbage. They moved forward anyway.

This is a preview of some of the things we’ll likely see spelled out in the coming IG report. There’s noway this FISA warrant can stand up to legal scrutiny now and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The misconduct goes well past just the treatment of Carter Page. It’s getting high time for some criminal indictments to start coming down the line.
