Democrats decided to protest President Trump’s decision to not to allow transgender troops by disrespecting those who made enormous sacrifices during times of war. For some reason, this seemed like a good idea when it’s clearly not.

The Washington Examiner gives the details.

Several Democratic lawmakers replaced the POW/MIA flags outside their Capitol Hill offices with transgender equality flags to protest President Trump’s new policy on transgender troops.

The National Center for Transgender Equality sent flags to all members of Congress, including Republicans, to commemorate “Trans Visibility Week,” Fox News reports.

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., tweeted a photo of the door to his congressional office with the transgender equality flag standing in place of the usual black-and-white flag honoring prisoners of war and Americans missing in action.

Normally, every Congressional office has two flags, with the spot on the left being reserved for the flag honoring prisoners of war and those missing in action. As you can see, that flag has been replaced with a “transgender flag.” The new flags were sent to a lot of (possibly all) Democrats and many participated in this stunt by putting them up, including Nancy Pelosi who also replaced her POW/MIA flag.

On Thursday, the House voted 238-185 on a nonbinding resolution to oppose the policy, which will go into effect next month.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., who also replaced her office’s POW/MIA flag, said on the floor in supporting the resolution that “there is no moral justification for this ban, which violates every value of our American democracy.”

The military doesn’t exist to satisfy Nancy Pelosi’s warped morals. It exists to wage war and win war. There are serious issues with transgender troops in the military.

One, they are expensive. It costs money to supply them with gender-bending medications, reassignment surgeries, and mental health services specific to delusions about gender. Secondly, because of their often complicated medical regimes, those that choose to “transition” can typically not be deployed. If you can’t deploy, you become a major liability to the armed forces. Everyone has to be ready to do their part when called and having someone who can’t leave U.S. shores because there’s no supply of testosterone blockers in-theater is a strain on the military that they simply don’t need.

People are denied entry into service for all kinds of different reasons. There is nothing discriminatory about transgenderism being a dis-qualifier anymore than a bad back being one. The question is: Can you fulfill the mission? If you can’t, you shouldn’t be admitted. Democrat attempts to politicize the military for this kind of nonsense are disgusting. This is not a game. It’s not their social justice petri dish to do as they please.

This is made even dumber by disrespecting the sacrifices of POWs and MIAs just to make a shallow political statement. Bernie Sanders is a literal bum who’s never held a real job in his life so I’d expect nothing less from him. Nancy Pelosi should know better though. There are some things you just don’t do. This is one of them.
