CNN President Jeff Zucker was asked about the recent decision by the DNC to ban Fox News from hosting any of their primary debates. That decision was blamed on what appears to be a false report by Jane Mayer, claiming that Fox News didn’t report on the Stormy Daniels affair for partisan reasons. Mayer left out key context from the person who made that decision, including using a false quote and ignoring that every other network decided not to run the story as well because of a lack of sourcing (Ms. Daniels was also denying it at the time).
Depsite that, the DNC ran with the article as their excuse to shun Fox News.
“Recent reporting in The New Yorker on the inappropriate relationship between President Trump, his administration and FOX News has led me to conclude that the network is not in a position to host a fair and neutral debate for our candidates. Therefore, FOX News will not serve as a media partner for the 2020 Democratic primary debates,” DNC Chairman Tom Perez said in the statement.
Mr. Zucker has responded to the decision, showing that he has about as much self-awareness as your average banana (or apple, it’s all the same to CNN).
CNN President Jeff Zucker slammed Fox News Saturday as a “propaganda outlet” and defended the Democratic National Committee’s decision to not allow Fox to host a presidential primary debate.
“I think the consternation about this is a little misplaced,” he said. “They don’t have to give one to CNN, they don’t have to give one to NBC. They have no obligation to give one to Fox,” he said at the South by Southwest Festival, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
“I think the question should be, is Fox state-run TV or is the White House state-run government by Fox TV?”
This coming from the President of a network who had one of their “news anchors” commit the ethics breach of personally trying to help race hoaxer Jessie Smollett. That would be Don Lemon, who once theorized that a plane may have disappeared into a black hole. This is also the same network that’s gotten caught with their pants down pushing false Trump stories more times than I can count at this point. CNN’s narrative driven, biased news has gotten so bad that they are about to get hit with a $250+million dollar lawsuit for repeatedly slandering a kid with a MAGA hat on. Most recently, CNN was caught red-handed planting Democratic operatives in town hall debates to ask questions while representing them as normal, unconnected voters.
There is no world that exists where CNN is anything but a biased, anti-Republican network that will literally do anything to service the liberal narrative. For Zucker to go after Fox News on this issue is laughable on it’s face. When Don Lemon, Chris Cuomo, and Anderson Cooper, three hosts who don’t even try to hide their rabidly liberal views, are called “anchors” instead of pundits, you lose any credibility to call others outlets “propaganda.”
While Fox News absolutely has many pro-Republican commentators, they are at least honest about it. You will never see Sean Hannity described as a journalist or anchor, nor will you see those like him hosting hard news events. Fox News does a great job of separating the two sides of it’s business. No honest person is going to accuse Chris Wallace of supporting Donald Trump nor assert that Bret Baier is anything but a fair moderator. Their professionalism far exceeds the likes of Don Lemon and company.
The DNC simply wanted an excuse to shun Fox News because they knew they’d get tough questions. They are embracing CNN and MSNBC precisely because they know those networks will tow the line for them. CNN is an embarrassment at this point and their declining ratings say nothing good about the direction Jeff Zucker has taken them in.
(And for the sake of the children, someone get that dude an undershirt)
