The grand opening of the Obama Presidential Center went down Thursday, and it was just what you’d expect. Meaning, there was plenty of self-congratulation and leftist activists on hand like TDS-riddled Bruce Springsteen, U2's Bono and The Edge, and former White House senior advisor Valerie Jarrett. She's now CEO of The Obama Foundation, a gig that has so far netted her a cool $740,000.
Also in attendance were former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Oprah Winfrey, Nancy Pelosi, Kamala Harris, and Steven Spielberg. Former Presidents Clinton, Biden and George W. Bush were there as well — I wonder if Joe said hello to Nancy, the former friend who threw him under the bus and ended his 54-year-long political career?
It wouldn’t be a Democrat event without a land acknowledgement, though, would it?
The horrifically designed Obama Presidential Center opening opens with a land acknowledgement.

Before the ceremony, Barack and Michelle Obama sat for an interview with "Good Morning America" host Robin Roberts that aired Thursday. Michelle said she has one priority following the opening: herself.

It looked like a real party — the kind maybe I'd skip to rearrange my sock drawer.

President Donald Trump wasn’t about to let the day go by without reminding the former president about the cost overruns and delays in what many consider to be the world’s ugliest building, which RedState’s Andrew Malcolm wrote looks like nothing if not a “Klingon Penitentiary.”
I know how to build beautiful things, the president's office said:
"President Trump continues to implement long-overdue and necessary renovations to beautify Washington, D.C., and our nation’s treasured monuments as we approach our historic 250th anniversary of independence. Thanks to the Builder-in-Chief, these projects are being completed on time and under budget — a stark contrast to the errantly run Obama administration, which overspent and underdelivered," White House spokesman Davis Ingle told Fox News Digital when asked for comment about the museum.
The Obama Center has certainly brought plenty of drama:
Obama Center Gets Even Uglier As Massive Mind-Numbing Text Display Goes Up
Obama started the war of words with Trump back in 2025, when he thought it was beneath a president to actually attempt to beautify the nation’s capital:
Trump "has been focused on critical issues like paving over the Rose Garden so folks don’t get mud on their shoes, and gold plating the Oval Office and building a $300 million ballroom," Obama said during a rally in October.
One of the smartest pundits out there, Hoover Institution Senior Fellow Victor Davis Hanson, was unsparing in his criticism of the former president and his hideous monument:
As a general rule, anytime Barack Obama lectures the country or its people on their purported sins—with Khalil Gibran pop platitudes—he is seeking absolution for his own obsessions by projecting his own guilty desires onto others.
The latest? At the dedication of his narcissistic Obama Presidential Center in Chicago—a $850 million flak-tower, monolithic boondoggle mired in debt—Obama lectured us on the need to resist the allure off "money, attention, [and] fame."
Thus spoke the owner of four homes, three of them multimillion-dollar mansions, whose last inert year in office was spent closing book and Netflix deals that ensured he would become a multimillionaire the moment he left office, and on spec, jets private to sermonize to various audiences–often at $400,000 a shot—on their own false-consciousness shortcomings.

If You Thought the Obama Library Was Ugly, Wait Till You See the Merch
Of course, it was an Obama occasion, so you knew there’d be plenty of high-minded rhetoric that didn't match the reality of his actions:

As a one-time Chicagoan and die-hard Bears fan, I can only say one thing to the Windy City: I’m sorry this happened to you.
Editor's Note: President Trump is leading America into the "Golden Age" as Democrats try desperately to stop it.
