As the Democrats continue their tantrums and refuse to end their partial government shutdown, where they’ve put our nation at risk by refusing to fully fund the Department of Homeland Security unless the Republicans agree to their ridiculous demands for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reforms, President Donald Trump has been finding ways to work around their endless obstruction.
On Monday, he finally got beleaguered Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents their paychecks by redirecting funds provided by the One Big Beautiful Bill to that purpose. On Wednesday, meanwhile, he announced that he's working with House Speaker Mike Johnson (LA-04) and Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) on a reconciliation bill that he wants on his desk by June 1 that would restore funding to DHS and put an end to the Dems’ failure theater.
On Thursday, he took to social media to proclaim that in the meantime, he’s prepping to sign an executive order:

Trump first thanked the Republicans in Congress and said they were working as a team:
Thank you to all of our Great Congressional Republicans, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and Senate Leader John Thune, for their work this week. Republicans are UNIFIED, and moving forward on a plan that will reload funding for our FANTASTIC Border Patrol and Immigration Enforcement Officers.
Then he teased the executive order:
Because the Democrats are fully and 100% committed to the Radical Left Policy of Open Borders and Zero Immigration Enforcement (which will hopefully cost them dearly in the Midterms!), allowing Murderers and Criminals of all types into our Country, totally unchecked and unvetted, I will soon sign an order to pay ALL of the incredible employees at the Department of Homeland Security.
Although he wrote that his order would “pay ALL of the incredible employees at the Department of Homeland Security,” he did not specify how that would be accomplished. He did, however, take the time to remind everyone of who’s to blame for this fiasco:
Their families have suffered far too long at the hands of the Extreme Liberal “Leaders,” Cryin’ Chuck Schumer and Hakeem “High Tax” Jeffries. Nevertheless, help is on the way for our Brave and Patriotic Public Servants who have continued to work hard, and do their part to protect and defend our Country. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP
Although the Senate just passed a DHS funding bill, it does nothing to solve the problem of ICE and Border Patrol paychecks:
The Senate passed a bill to fund the Department of Homeland Security on Thursday morning, sending the legislation to the House for approval.
The House held a brief pro forma session Thursday morning after the Senate passed the bill, but did not take any action on it. The House will next convene for a pro forma session on Monday, but the bill is not expected to go up for a full vote until April 13, when lawmakers return to Washington for the new session.
While House Speaker Mike Johnson has thrown his support behind the bill, some GOP lawmakers remain frustrated because it does not include funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement or Customs and Border Protection.
No word yet on whether Judge James Boasberg is already writing up a temporary restraining order for the new EO.
Editor’s Note: ICE and CBP continue to put themselves in harm's way in order to protect America’s sovereignty and to keep our streets safe.
