You knew the Democrats wouldn’t let the fifth anniversary of January 6 pass without histrionics, tearful angst, and performative theater. They didn’t disappoint, with everyone from former Vice President Kamala Harris to Sen. Adam Odious Schiff (D-CA) tweeting earnest statements about how we almost lost our Democracy (seriously) and how it was among the worst days in U.S. history.
Give it a rest, guys — virtually nobody but the AWFL crowd is buying that horse manure.
“The insurrection and attack on the U.S. Capitol were among the most dangerous threats to the rule of law in America since our nation’s founding," Schiff said in a statement.
World Wars I and II come to my mind, as does Pearl Harbor, as does 9/11, but not to Adam, evidently.
“January 6, 2021, showed us how fragile our democracy is,” Kamala tweeted. No, it showed us that it would take a helluva lot more than just a group of demonstrators to topple the federal government.
"The day democracy was placed at greater risk than it has been in a century, and more than a century," Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) echoed. Do you people hear yourselves? You’re just begging people to mock you with your endless melodrama.
But the real cringe came courtesy of Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08), who led a what, for all purposes, looked like a sacred quasi-religious ceremony on Capitol Hill. They lit their candles, they sang their hymns, and they prayed that the ghosts of J6 would somehow resurrect their fading political careers. As my sister used to say when we were kids, it was “vomitorious.”

Earlier Tuesday, as we reported, the White House nuked many of the Dems’ juvenile talking points with a new website that torched many of their narratives and blasted former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (CA-11) for not protecting the Capitol.
