Kamala Says Trump Heaped Praise on Her Post-Election—President Says, Nope

Former vice president and failed Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris is trying to stay in the news cycle again, as her new book detailing her disastrous campaign effort is set to hit bookstores Tuesday.

We’ve already discussed numerous “revelations” from the tome, titled “107 Days” in honor of the number of days she was officially running and the length of time it took her to burn through a billion dollars only to get crushed in November.

Now a new excerpt has been revealed—but President Donald Trump says it’s not true. Here’s the New York Times from Thursday:

She described one other call, the one in which she conceded the election to Mr. Trump — the phone call that he had never made to Mr. Biden, she noted. She wrote that she pleaded for him to work to bring the country together, and that she knew in the moment it was a lost cause.

“I am going to be so nice and respectful,” Mr. Trump said. “You are a tough, smart customer, and I say that with great respect. And you also have a beautiful name. I got use of that name, it’s Kamala.”

The Times snidely notes that he got her name right:

He pronounced her name correctly on that call, after mispronouncing it in public all through the campaign.

They neglected to mention, however, that Kamala's former boss Joe Biden couldn’t even manage to pronounce her name correctly.

In an interview Sunday, however, Trump said that the "smart customer" moment never happened.

President Donald Trump rejected former Vice President Kamala Harris’ claim in her new book that he privately praised her during a concession phone call, saying he was cordial but never described her as a "tough, smart customer."

"[I didn't call her that] that I know of, but I was nice to her," Trump told Fox News senior White House correspondent Peter Doocy, co-host of the new program, "The Sunday Briefing."

My question to Ms. Harris would be, did anyone else hear Mr. Trump say this to you? It would seem that there would be a lot of witnesses. I’d like to hear their version.

It was Trump’s next sentence, however, that was truly withering. He delivered it quietly, without venom, without hate, all of which it made it that more devastating to Kamala Harris:

"I thought Kamala would have done a better job than she did in terms of running, because we really won by a lot. And I thought she would have done better," he added.

I think a lot of people did.

The more time goes on, the more we are reminded that Harris could be president right now, and it would have been a disaster. Although we knew at the time and wrote relentlessly about it, she was one of the worst major candidates to have ever been put on the ballot in modern times. She could not express the simplest of ideas with any coherence and could not think of a single thing she’d do differently than Biden—despite the fact that Ole Joe’s policies were disastrous, with unfettered illegal immigration, soaring inflation, reckless spending and weakness on the world stage.

She did not, in fact, prove herself to be one "tough, smart customer"; in fact, she proved herself to be the face of a dying Democrat progressivism that, from all indications, Americans are done with.

America dodged a bullet when Donald Trump beat Kamala Harris at the ballot box.

One reason why he won is because conservative outlets like RedState kept bringing you the unvarnished truth, and we didn’t try to gaslight you like the mainstream media did.
