As the predictable debate and accusations over President Donald Trump's bombing of Iranian nuclear sites on Saturday night continued to grow on Sunday, hyper-hypocritical congressional Democrats with apparently zero relevant memory called for... wait for it... Trump's impeachment. I know: YAWN.
Then something unpredictable and perhaps unprecedented happened:
An apparently rational Democrat — a former Democrat Party advisor, no less — called out his "truly TDS" riddled party, and proceeded to blast the ever-loving crap out of those calling for Trump's impeachment.
Dan Turrentine — who formerly worked as the national finance director for Hillary Clinton when she was a New York senator, and also worked for several other Democratic lawmakers, as well as for the Democratic National Committee — fired up X on Sunday and blistered his own party.
I was going to embolden various words and phrases in Turrentine's post until I read the whole thing and realized I would have had to use bold font throughout:
It was too depressing to write this last night, after we got off air, so I went to bed. But, it needs to be said by more Democrats: this was not an impeachable offense, and Trump did not need congressional approval for one precision attack under the circumstances, just as Obama did not when striking Bin Laden.
Why can’t our Party just say it’s great we achieved the objective and destroyed Iran’s nuclear sites, god bless the soldiers who carried this out and made it home safely, god bless our country, military, allies, and we look forward to a full intel briefing. . If one must then assert Congressional authority at the moment, add that any escalation will require congressional approval.
And if you must, express concern for where this may go and what might come next. But, for so many in my Party to knee jerk with unhinged calls for impeachment - and sadly omit in their statement support for Iran not having nuclear weapons, which has been a principle of our Party for 40 years -is truly TDS.
Shocking? Perhaps to some, but Turrentine appears to have at least some of the sense we saw with record numbers of Democrat crossover voters supporting Trump in the 2024 presidential election.

Given that the Democrat Party is the most hypocritical — not to mention, self-unaware — group of people on the face of the earth, and that late-stage Trump Derangement Syndrome is a terrible mental disease to behold, it's at least understandable that in the twisted minds of the left, Trump is the Devil-incarnate who can do nothing but evil.
But... you'd think, wouldn't you? — that they'd at least take into account Obama taking out Bin Laden and how they — and all of America —reacted to Bin Laden being sent to check out his 72 virgins, and react in the same manner over Trump's attack on Iran.
Nah, I'm just messing with you; the TDS-riddled left is incapable of honesty and rational thought.

Anyway, kudos to Dan Turrentine.
Although, I predict (as I'm sure you do, as well) that his words of truth will fall on deaf ears of Democrats who hate Donald Trump; not only more than they love America, but also more than they care about successfully obliterating the nuclear capabilities of radical Muslim extremists intent on destroying "the Great Satan," and Western Civilization as a whole.
