Donald Trump made the massive move to bomb Iran’s nuclear sites Saturday night and is expected to speak to the nation at 10 p.m. EST.
The reaction has not surprisingly taken over the headlines, but social media is also on fire with opinions on the strikes. Perhaps the most interesting one so far came from Pennsylvania Democrat Sen. John Fetterman, who, based on his record and his campaign, was expected to be a far-left legislator. However, he has broken with his party numerous times, and he does so once again here:
As I’ve long maintained, this was the correct move by @POTUS.

Iran is the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism and cannot have nuclear capabilities.
I’m grateful for and salute the finest military in the world. 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/YZ0pIaunff
Republican Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas had similar thoughts:
Iran has waged a war of terror against the United States for 46 years. We could never allow Iran to get nuclear weapons. God bless our brave troops. President Trump made the right call and the ayatollahs should recall his warning not to target Americans.

Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk said Iran left the president no choice—he had to take action:
Iran gave President Trump no choice. For a decade he has been adamant that Iran will never get a nuclear weapon. Iran decided to forego diplomacy in pursuit of a bomb. This is a surgical strike, operated perfectly.

President Trump acted with prudence and decisiveness.
NY Gop Rep. Elise Stefanik hoped the bold strike would eventually lead to peace:
President Trump and our brave American troops have made the world safer by striking the Islamic Republic of Iran’s nuclear weapons facilities that threatened the world.

Thank you President Trump and thank you to our courageous servicemembers. Now is the time for peace. 🇺🇸
Independent journalist Nick Sortor tweeted that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and the entire national security team appear to have pulled off an all-time operational security feat:
🚨 FOX PENTAGON REPORTER: "In my 18 years at the Pentagon, I've never seen such operational security.
— Nick Sortor (@nicksortor) June 22, 2025
There were NO LEAKS. NOBODY speaking about this. A complete blackout on information about Iran at the Pentagon for the last few days."
GREAT JOB, @SecDef Hegseth! 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/AnDZ1i8uLz
Radio show host Clay Travis summed up the feelings of many conservatives:
We successfully bombed Iran. Well done, President Trump. The right decision. pic.twitter.com/asgrG2p2OE

There will obviously be many, many more reactions this evening; these are just some of the notable early ones. We should know more about the effects of the attacks Saturday night after the president's speech, and RedState will bring you the new developments.
