Donald Trump delivered a rousing commencement speech Saturday at West Point military academy in New York as attendees chanted, “USA! USA!” He touched on a variety of pro-America and pro-strong military topics, as our Nick Arama and Becca Lower reported, but he also hammered home what is to him one of the most important issues: getting men out of someone’s sports and out of their locker rooms.

In February, he signed an executive order titled, “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports," and since then he has been playing hardball with institutions and states that fail to comply with his directive. In the end, he argued to the graduating class of 1,002, the issue really comes down to a matter of “common sense.”

He began by saying his administration was getting rid of divisive social justice policies and going back to hiring based on merit:

Most importantly, you have to have common sense, because most of it's about common sense when you get right down to it. And we have a lot of people, we have a lot of very smart people, but they have to have common sense, and we've liberated our troops from divisive and demeaning political trainings.

There will be no more critical race theory or transgender for everybody forced onto our brave men and women in uniform or on anybody else for that matter, this country. [Cheers.]

Then he hit the frankly ridiculous issue of men competing in high-level athletics against women. It’s “crazy,” he said.

And we will not have men playing in women's sports, if that's okay.

I mean, I wouldn't want to have to tackle as an example, [QB] Bryson [Daily], as a man, but I don't think a lot of women want to tackle him. I don't think so.

How crazy is it? Men playing in women's sports? How crazy is it? So ridiculous, so demeaning, so demeaning to women. And it's over. That's over.

As we’ve reported extensively, the president has gone head to head with outfits like the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Maine for continuing to allow the unfair, unsafe and morally disturbing practice of allowing biological men to beat up and steal trophies and scholarships from girls and women, who have worked their whole lives to reach the pinnacles of their sports.
