Apparently, the madness and antisemitism at New York’s Ivy League Columbia University has not stopped despite President Donald Trump’s threat to yank hundreds of millions in federal funding and the school’s subsequent caving on the issue.
The inmates appeared to be running the asylum once again Monday as faculty members held an “emergency vigil” while a flyer from some nutball outfit named the Columbia Palestine Solidarity Coalition demanded a “mask Monday” to protest mask bans.
If there was ever any question that masks were more of a Marxist, controlling, virtue signaling device (and a way for “activists” to hide their faces) than an effective COVID deterrent, that pretty much answers the question.
As Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) once said about then-President Joe Biden, “Go to Amazon and buy a spine online”:
Tomorrow, March 24th is MASK MONDAY! Wear a mask on Monday to protest mask bans and the fascist @Columbia trustees. Protect yourself and your community! We recommend a N95, KF94, or KN95 for the best protection. ❤️🔥 pic.twitter.com/VQETnSsciR

In another post, they wrote: “Solidarity with Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) for Palestine. Keep wearing your mask on campus! Fight repression & protect your community.” How exactly does wearing a mask fight repression? To many of us, masks are a symbol of repression.
Not to be outdone, radical faculty members of course had to get in on the act:
A group of people continued marching and circling around the main gate of Columbia University on Monday afternoon, banging loud drums and chanting, "Long live the intifada."
Their actions come shortly after Columbia University professors held what they called an "emergency vigil" in response to the college's agreement to implement a host of policy changes, including overhauling its rules for protests and conducting an immediate review of its Middle Eastern studies department following demands from the Trump administration.
The group gathered outside the university's gates on 116th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, holding signs that read "defend democracy," "defend teaching" and "Columbia, fight back."
Though the arrest of prominent anti-Israel activist and legal permanent resident Mahmoud Khalil by federal immigration officials was mentioned, activists used the opportunity to speak about numerous grievances with the school.

The Columbia Jewish Alumni Assoc. was rightly appalled:
We've now arrived at a point where certain @Columbia faculty are:
— Columbia Jewish Alumni Assoc. (@CU_JewishAlumni) March 24, 2025
1. Urging students to skip class
2. Promoting masks in defiance of the school's own resolution agreement
3. Publicly attacking the school's attempts to restore funding
This isn't protest. It's sabotage.

The tweet continues:
In the real world, when you take a public blowtorch your employer's and your colleagues' future, you get fired. Whatever Columbia needs to do to get rid of these people, they cannot do it soon enough. Also, to the @Cornell professor who is risking our school and not hers: Get off our lawn.
Here’s an example of one of the fine professors working hard to educate impressionable, eager young minds:
"Now, the Trump administration is attacking Columbia as a target to coerce other universities as well to fall in line with the authoritarian regime of the Trump administration," Risa L. Lieberwitz, professor of labor and employment law at Cornell University, said during the news conference.
Much of the progressive rot that has spread through far too much of our country emanates from “elite” institutions of higher education. Trump is right to attempt to put a stop to it, and he should keep punishing bad actors like Columbia, UPenn and the University of Maine for their unacceptable behavior.
