Former Celtic Enes Kanter Freedom Dunks on Bitter WNBA Player Who Called America 'Trash'

Washington Mystics player Natasha Cloud of the WNBA honored the upcoming Independence Day celebrations by calling our country “trash in so many ways” and venting about the oppression of marginalized groups that has been happening “since the beginning of times.” The rant came the day after the late-June U.S. Supreme Court 6-3 rejection of race-based college admissions.

She joins Brittney Griner, the disgruntled baller who refused to come out of the locker room for the national anthem for an entire season and spent ten months in a Russian prison for drug possession, in dissing America. (Griner has been singing a different tune since returning to the homeland.)

But former NBA star Enes Kanter Freedom wasn’t having any of Cloud’s bitterness: “Just ask your colleague Brittney Griner how ‘trash’ America is,” Kanter Freedom tweeted. “Calling America trash huh? Let me know when your season is over, I’ll buy your ticket and we can go together to counties like China, Russia, IRAN, North Korea, Venezuela, Cuba, & Turkey.”

As we’ve reported, Freedom has been outspoken before, criticizing the NBA’s relationship with the Chinese Communist Party and claiming that the league is a “100 percent American-made company… run by the Chinese dictatorship.” He even legally added Freedom to his last name in 2021 to celebrate becoming a citizen of this country, saying, “America taught me so much, here people should be blessed. You have freedom of speech, freedom of the press and I want to carry that word with me everywhere I go.”

His criticism toward Cloud grew more pointed as he continued his post:

Forget about calling them trash, I would like to see if you can even criticize those regimes!! You and your family members would be thrown in jail, tortured to death, and raped.

People have NO idea how lucky and blessed they are to be in a country like America. I’m not saying America is perfect, but trust me, you don’t wanna see the other side.

Freedom ought to know what he’s talking about—he criticized Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in 2013, and now the country has placed a $500,000 bounty on his head. I’m guessing Natasha Cloud has never experienced anything like that.

As I said earlier, Brittney Griner got a taste of totalitarian Russia, and now her criticism of America has suddenly become less than a whisper. It’s no wonder why—she had been sentenced to nine years in the notoriously-brutal Russian penal system but was freed in a December 2022 prisoner swap for international “Merchant of Death” arms dealer Viktor Bout, a deal that left many fuming. The agreement did not include freeing Marine Paul Whelan, who remains imprisoned on unsubstantiated spying charges in the former USSR, and Griner’s race and sexual preference were highlighted by many as reasons why Joe Biden’s administration agreed to the lopsided trade.

Even Russian TV announcers mocked the U.S. for the swap.

Cloud has other inflammatory, America-hating posts on her resume:

Kanter Freedom is right; Cloud has no clue. Yes, of course we have problems, just like every other nation in the history of mankind. But is she even marginally aware of how good she’s got it in America? She plays a game for a living, she’s free to speak her mind (and I’m free not to listen), and she’s unlikely to have a bounty put on her for her views.

It is a shame that so many “progressives” in our country have learned to hate America. They’ve been taught by the educational system that we suck, and they’re repeatedly told by President Biden and other Democrats that our biggest contribution to the world is systemic racism.

I could write thousands of words on all the wonderful things about this great experiment, but instead, I’m going to get ready to celebrate Independence Day tomorrow. I’m going to wear my American flag T-shirt and drink a Modelo. I suspect Cloud will spend her day marinating in her anger.
