Fauci's Back to Blast the American People, but Most Are Ignoring Him

Chief Medical Advisor to the President Dr. Anthony Fauci is all over the airwaves again after suffering a long bout of COVID—and then “Paxlovid rebound” COVID—in June. As my colleague Nick Arama reported, Fauci threw out the first pitch at a Mariners game in Seattle on Tuesday, where he was soundly booed, then accepted the “Hutch Award.” According to Major League Baseball, the award is given to a Major Leaguer who demonstrates… courage and dedication.” Why Tony Fauci is receiving it is beyond me, since he’s obviously not a professional baseball player.

Just to make sure we hadn’t forgotten him, Fauci sat down for a talk that same night at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center campus in Seattle to blast Americans and their reactions to his endless COVID mandates and edicts. Not surprisingly, he doesn’t understand the reluctance of many to mask themselves for the rest of eternity:

When you tell people they need to mask in an indoor congregate setting when you’re in a zone that has a high dynamic of infection — that is looked upon by a lot of people, not everybody, as an encroachment on your freedom.

We’ve never had that before. It’s almost inexplicable.

Notice that he’s not wearing a mask. Watch:

What do you mean, we’ve never “had that before?” Of course we haven’t, because we’ve never had onerous mask mandates in most of our lifetimes. And yes, it is quite accurately described as an “encroachment” on our freedom. The Oxford Dictionary defines a mandate as “an official order or commission to do something,” which literally means you are not free to do otherwise.

He goes on to shame those who aren’t vaxxed and double-boosted:

“You have people who don’t want to get vaccinated for any of a variety of reasons, ranging from pure anti-vax to just because we’re telling them to get vaccinated,” Fauci said. “We’re in a very difficult situation.”

Maybe because people have watched almost every vaxxed and boosted friend or family member get COVID recently? He wasn’t done:

We have 67% of our population vaccinated. Of those, one half are boosted. That means a third of the people in the country are vaccinated and properly boosted. How could that possibly be when you have a disease that’s killed one million Americans and you have a hesitancy to use a life-saving intervention, which is a vaccine and a booster?

It seems like — what world are we living in?

We’re living in a world, Dr. Fauci, where many of us have eyes and ears. What we’ve seen is that you and Joe Biden, two of the most shrill vax and mask proponents on the planet, suffered bad, lengthy bouts of COVID and then rebound COVID. There are many credible reports that the boosted may be more susceptible than the unjabbed to infection from the omicron variant. I’m not saying that’s true, but despite “fact-checkers” jumping in to claim it’s a misreading of the data, I have yet to see data to convincingly prove that it’s false.

“The pandemic of the unvaccinated,” meanwhile, was always a lie, and now we don’t hear you or your flunkies utter the phrase anymore, Herr Doctor. Since so much of what you’ve been telling us the past two years-plus has turned out to simply be wrong, you no longer qualify for the benefit of the doubt.

Americans are not easy to push around, and it would appear they’re starting to tune out Fauci. Fox News reports:

Nearly 80% of Americans over the age of 5 have received one dose of the vaccine, while 67% are fully vaccinated, 32% have received a booster and 10% have opted for a second booster.

What doesn’t that tell you? That only five percent of parents of 6 months to 4 years olds are opting to get their babies and toddlers jabbed, and only 30 percent of 5-11 year-olds have received their second shot. It’s clear that they, or their parents, simply don’t want it.

Meanwhile, millions of doses of the mRNA vaccine are set to expire because of lack of demand:

“We’re seeing demand falling off across all the states,” said Marcus Plescia, chief medical officer at the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials. “It’s not like, if Connecticut doesn’t need theirs, it can go to Alabama. There just isn’t the demand.”

And while many authorities like ethics-challenged LA County Public Health Director Dr. Barbara Ferrer are desperate to bring back mandates, previous mask and lockdown orders caused untold learning loss, suicide, drug use and depression as kids weren’t even allowed to see each other’s faces. Many Americans don’t want to go back to that. RedState’s Bonchie reports that there is plenty of data that show masks aren’t even particularly effective against a virus.

Fauci has lied to us, been wrong on so many occasions, and has shamed Americans for far too long, and I for one would be more than pleased if he just took his long-overdue retirement and rode away into the sunset. If all the measures he’s tried to sell us work so well—then why are we still in a pandemic two and a half years later?
