James Carville Issues List of 'The Seven Dirty Words' Democrats Need to Ditch Right Now

For those of us of a certain age, we remember the late comedian George Carlin and his list of "the seven dirty words you can't say on television." Decorum prevents me from listing them here, but take my word, it was hilarious. Fast forward a few decades, and you can now say just about all of them on television. Now, in an attempt to save what's left of his party, former strategist James Carville has come up with a list of his own "dirty words" that Democrats need to dump ASAP. But will they listen?

In a Politicon video released on Tuesday, Carville rattled off several of the Democrats' favorite words and phrases, the ones that usually have average Americans rolling their eyes, and went on to explain that Democrats need to stop using these words and phrases because it is not helping their messaging. The problem is, is that they have not figured out that their main problem is messaging. But Carville gave it the old college try.

He started off the list with the phrases "communities of color" and "people of color." He said that in Democrats' zeal to prove how not racist they are, these phrases actually are a bit racist because they imply that all minorities are identical and not unique. But if Democrats stop using these phrases, will they then have to concede that not all minorities think alike? A tall order indeed. Next on the list was the phrase "generational change." Carville asked, "Why do you want to limit the appeal of your message to younger people? …" Plenty of Americans of all ages want some drastic change. Next on the verboten list was the word "structural." Carville stated the obvious: "We’re not going to attack the structural issues in the world right now." I would add two things: one, it sounds pretty elitist, and two, what are structural issues anyway?

The next one should definitely be on the chopping block: the word "equity." Again, an elitist-sounding word. What Joe Sixpack kind of guy rambles on about equity? Carville again laid a truth on Democrats, saying, "People basically don’t know what it means, and if they do know what it means, it looks like you tried to force an outcome.”

"Community" was the next word on the list. But it is not so much the word itself, but how Democrats use it. An example of that is when they refer to LGBTQ+ Americans. Carville's advice:

"It’s not a terrible word. I wouldn’t even use the ‘LBGQT+’ or whatever it is. I just call people gay, the lesbian or trans … Just use the word that is most commonly used among people as they talk to each other.”

He added that not everyone knows what it stands for, and using it implies that one is “trying to signal that there’s something wrong with the term or you’re just trying to show people how smart you are.” That, and the fact that Democrats have lost the ability to carry on a conversation with the average person. Another problematic word is "intersectionality." Carville's reason for striking that one is one we can all get behind: "No one uses the term ‘intersectionality’ except for NPR." But the one that really got the Ragin' Cajun fired up was the now-popular "oligarchy."

(Profanity alert):

In a way only Carville can, he asked, “This is another really stupid word: ‘oligarch.’ Who in the f*** knows what an oligarch is, okay?" He suggested the more relatable "fat cats."

The real question is, are Democrats listening? No. No, they are not listening, and they will continue not to listen. They are not listening to the few people in their party who, like Carville, are telling them what needs to be done. And they have to keep using these words and phrases because they are too wedded to the ideas and concepts behind them. The problem: most Americans are not.

James Carville might be a lot of things, but he knows his stuff. Lucky for us, his party will continue to ignore him.

WARNING: STRONG LANGUAGE.

The Democrat Party has never been less popular as voters reject their globalist agenda.
