Democrats suffered a butt-whoopin' in November on a scale not seen in quite a while. Americans were quite clear that they were sick of a broken economy, illegal immigrants pouring over the southern border, skyrocketing crime, and America being a laughing stock abroad. Donald Trump won every swing state and both the popular and the electoral college votes. The message could not have been more plain. So, while Republicans are having a glorious time watching elected Democrats in Washington D.C. flailing about, a new poll shows that a trip home to talk to real people might be in order for them.
🚨Democrats today say they want their party to become moderate according to a Gallup poll published Thursday.#Democrats

NOT a Chance. Democrat Party is being driven by some of the Craziest Looney Tunes in the Country. pic.twitter.com/0OH7MQOFhv
A new Gallup poll taken between January 21-27 says that since Trump's reelection, more Democrats say they would like to see some "moderation" in the party. Since the poll was last taken after Joe Biden took office in 2021, 34 percent of Democrats and Democrat-leaning independents said they would like to see a more moderate Democrat party. Fast forward to 2025, and a much more substantial number of Democrats, 45 percent, said the party needs to become more moderate.
The D.C. temper tantrum throwers, of course, have their supporters, it's how they got there. In this latest poll, of those surveyed, 49 percent identified themselves as liberal Democrats. Of those who said they were liberals, 45 percent said they would like to see the party become more liberal, 22 percent said they are happy with the status quo, and 30 percent of liberal Democrats said the party should become more moderate.
However, liberal Democrats may have a problem. Even though Republicans crack wise about moderate Democrats being all but extinct, that may not be the case. Of those who called themselves moderates, a whopping 62 percent said they want a more moderate Democrat party, 22 percent said nothing should change, and just 14 percent said it should be more liberal. Granted, there is a 15-point swing between liberals and moderates, but if the moderates are that united, is it possible that they bring a few of those in the 22 percent group over?
Democrats are encapable of the pivot. They are completely missing the message of 11/5 so they double down on stupid and get even MORE radical. America doesn't want violence, we want careers, homes and affordable groceries, We want NORMAL. https://t.co/POx48bp7Zq

There are a lot of numbers here to crunch, but are the unhinged antics of D.C. Democrats turning off a portion of their voters? There is always going to be that, as Rush Limbaugh called them, "kook fringe" far-left of the party. But is something happening that the media won't cover, and D.C. Democrats will certainly not acknowledge, that, if these numbers are even remotely correct, there could be a swath of ordinary, everyday average Americans who just happen to be Democrats who are starting to get it? Yeah, they voted these buffoons into office, but if they are starting to get it, do the buffoons survive in 2026? They also voted for Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman, who, yeah, is a Democrat, but he hasn't turned out to be the kook fringe guy we thought he would.
Add to this the fact that Democrats are distracted by their inter-swamp bickering. My colleague, Teri Christoph, has chronicled the infighting between the far-left progressives and the dinosaurs desperately trying to cling to power. Between their childish behavior and infighting, they have no time for actual voters and what they think.

It became clear early on that Democrats learned nothing from their beatdown. Meanwhile, Republicans say they are pretty happy with where their party was in 2021 compared to 2025, with that number rising just nine percent.
While Republicans should never get cocky or complacent, there is a good chance that Democrats are not going to change course for at least another election cycle -- they just don't have it in them. And the GOP schadenfreude-palooza will go merrily on.
Everyone can tell Democrats are lying.

If you talk to any moderate Democrat in private, they will admit that they do not agree with the far left views of their party, but in public, they have to pretend.
As long as they wear this mask, they will continue to lose elections.
