President Trump visited steel country in more ways than one on Friday afternoon, where he made a speech during a celebration of a new deal hammered out by the administration.

He began his stop in the Pittsburgh, PA, area by taking a tour of the U.S. Steel facility there in West Mifflin:

As part of the event, members of the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers--past and present--warmly greeted the president and presented him with a team jersey, as the crowd raucously chanted, "Here we go, Steelers!"

Pres. Trump got down to business during his speech, stating that U.S. Steel will remain an American company, thanks to the newly minted deal with Japan's Nippon Steel for $14 billion in investments, which could create 70,000 jobs, according to the White House, as we previously wrote:

Trump also spoke about one of his other major policy goals right now--passing the reconciliation bill in the U.S. Senate; he stressed the urgency for the people listening to his remarks to contact their senators about the Big, Beautiful Bill:

Trump announced that tariffs on imported steel will climb next week, to double the current 25 percent:

He also shared a dirty little secret about the Democrat Party, which took many of these workers and their steelworker forefathers for granted over the years and "sold [them] out":

No need to take Pres. Trump's word for it, though. Just watch this telling video clip below, from local news showing Clairton, PA, residents reacting to the U.S. Steel deal with the Japanese company. Listen to the words they use to describe how it will turn around the industry--and revive jobs that they counted as lost forever for their families and neighbors.

Music to those residents' and workers' ears--after the roller coasters of plants across America being announced as "closing and not closing," as the president said--is that the company promises greater stability, including a bonus:

Plant Manager Don German spoke for many of the people who work there when he thanked Trump for helping shepherd the deal between the two steel titans:

Near the close of his speech, President Trump praised the commonwealth of Pennsylvania for all it has done to protect and prosper our nation in its times of turmoil--and now, America will "again...put Pennsylvania steel into the backbone of America like never before."
