Just days ago, President Joe Biden garnered an overwhelming victory in the 2024 Democrat presidential primary, winning 96 percent of the vote in South Carolina. As my colleague Susie Moore shared in her mini-audio commentary piece, Biden left both of his challengers in the dust on Tuesday:

To his credit, Biden did notch a resounding win in the Palmetto State. He garnered 96 percent of the vote, leaving Marianne Williamson and Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) in low-low single digits.

Last May, former Democrat presidential candidate and author Marianne Williamson lashed out and accused the Democrat National Committee (DNC) of sitting on the scales for Pres. Biden in 2024.

So, it's likely unsurprising that Williamson, who joined the race in Mar. 2023, decided to end her campaign on Wednesday. Guess she's had enough, and she's expressing it in the most Marianne Williamson way possible:

Williamson announced she was suspending her campaign in a video, starting off talking about a quote she read recently: “Sunsets are proof that endings can be beautiful too.”

“And so today, even though it is time to suspend my campaign for the presidency, I do want to see the beauty,” Williamson continued.[...]

Williamson, 71, who also sought the White House in 2020, launched her bid against Biden last March, critiquing the Democratic Party’s ethos and pleading to fundamentally change operations in Washington.

Williamson's campaign donation page remains active, as is typical when a campaign is suspended; it now has a note explaining that "all donations 'from this point forward' would go toward campaign debt retirement."
