Video: Ivy League College Students Have No Idea What's in the First Amendment

A new video from Campus Reform has students from Columbia University being asked if they can name the five rights protected under the First Amendment to the Constitution. Keep in mind that this is an ivy league school, which should mean that these are among the best and brightest students in the world. One is even studying Constitutional Law.

The most any student got was three out of five. It costs nearly $75,000 a year to go to Columbia.

In case you didn’t know, the five rights protected by the First Amendment are:

  1. Freedom of religion
  2. Free speech
  3. Freedom of the press
  4. Freedom of peaceable assembly
  5. Freedom to petition the government for redress of grievances

Not to brag or anything, but I totally knew that.
