Hotshot Texas Banker Becomes Castrated Dragon Lady, a Father/Son Rift Ensues

In an age of drag, the culture loves those who are draggin’; but what if they’re dragon? A Texas-born being is bound to find out.

One night in the 1980s, Richard Hernandez had a dreadful dream. As described to the Daily Mail, there were serpents afoot:

“[Snakes] were all biting me, and I was very much afraid…”

Then the nightmare turned nice…

[A]s…they kept…biting me, I could see that I was not being hurt… … [M]y fear began to subside, and I felt…at peace.”

Richard saw it as a sign. So he headed to a surgeon’s office for a spending spree.

The man became a mythical monster, and he went from butch to fem. He christened himself Tiamat Legion Medusa, AKA The Dragon Lady.

In 2020, Yahoo! Life outlined some alterations:

Tiamat has had her ears removed, received 10 eyebrow implants, had 32 teeth removed, gotten her tongue split and nose reshaped, added horn implants to the top of her head, tattooed the white parts of her eyes green, and is working on getting a full-body tattoo of scales.

“I can’t deal with being all human,” the quasi-reptile remarked.

Since then, the transgender dragon has gone nonbinary. And where surgery’s concerned, there’s no sign of scaling back. Last March, the Mail offered more operational info:

They have…spent more than $83,500…on…surgeries, including…castration and countless tattoos…

They hope to add “horns” to their head and plan to have their remaining six teeth removed in order to get a full set of dental implants designed to look like dragon’s teeth — something they described as an “immediate priority.”

Pete’s Dragon had a Peter; Texas’s soon may not:

They are also planning to have a penectomy — removing their penis entirely in a bid to become “the world’s first and only genderless dragon.”

Tiamat hasn’t left the limelight: Just this month, the New York Post featured the possibly-pending dragonself.

But that doesn’t mean the road to Reptilia’s been smooth. Last year, The Sun shone a light:

Tiamat said that he struggled with being born a boy from age 11 years and came out as gay – while dreams to be a girl had to be kept hidden.

After graduating high school in 1979, they escaped the small town of Bruni to live in Houston. And life took a positive turn when a position as entry-level clerk opened up at bank JP Morgan Chase.

As told by video channel Truly, Richard hailed as a “hotshot banker.” But following a medical diagnosis, he cooly cashed out:

[T]he decision to switch careers and get modified for the first time in 1997 with a pair of [$400] horns came [after] a diagnosis of HIV — and then AIDS, which…was thought to be a death sentence.

“[I] started modifying my body, as I felt I was in a race against time,” said Tiamat, who made a full recovery and today is classed as undetectable and untransmittable.

[Continuing]: “I am removing parts of myself that offend me, including some of my physical attributes. … Having…endured so much cruelty at the hands of humans, making myself into something from another species is my own way of dealing with the…pain and anguish that continues to torment me…today.”

In the scriptural spirit of plucking out what offends thee, a grave goodbye has been said:

Following their initial transformation, Tiamet…had prostate removal and castration as part of the change from male to female.

At the same time, however, hello:

[T]iamet grew 38B breasts as a result of hormones…

Yet despite the triumph of transition, affliction has breathed its furious flame. Per The Post, the former Lady’s felt a familial blow:

[T]he entertainer admitted they are estranged from their adult son, who doesn’t understand the extreme makeover.

“The relationship or the connection with my son has changed,” the tattooed Texan confessed (in a previous YouTube interview). “At the time when I started my transformation, my son had already turned 16. And he rejected me at that point in my life.”

Nonetheless, hope remains:

“My son hasn’t been in my life for seven years, I’m hoping that he is at least watching me on the internet because the reason I’m out there in such a big way is for him.”

And make no mistake — a December Facebook post reveals the dragon is on fire:

The lizard is set to bask; make way for Mr. Ms. Mx. Medusa’s moment. As relayed by The Sun, there’s an “it” factor:

[H]aving now become fluid, they have changed their name legally and says they want to be an inspiration…

“I am in the process of going genderless, so I prefer they/them pronouns. My ultimate preference is to simply be called an ‘it,’ just like my own kind, the snakes.

“It is my goal and mission to shatter the gender binary, and to inspire others out there to embrace being nonbinary by sharing my story of going genderless.”

Or perhaps going “dragon” is the superior feat.

Either way, it’s good timing for Tiamat; society seems unprecedentedly primed. How high might a nonbinary dragon fly? Let’s just say the sky’s the limit:
