The President has challenged a Democrat to a dual.
Personally, I’m still confused by Joe Biden’s presidential nomination.
What’s his party thinking? With all due respect to my elders, Joe’s obvious medical issue doesn’t make for a very in-command Commander-in-Chief.
As I covered previously, Vice President Mike Pence believes something’s afoot — of the “Trojan horse” sort.
Are the most radical elements of the American Left waiting to pull strings tied to Joe’s Geritol’d joints?
If so, how will they reach that day of political puppeteering? How might Biden perform in a debate against Donald “The Animal” Trump?
I can’t imagine it happening, but Trump’s at the ready.
In fact, speaking on Fox News Sunday, the Leader of the Free World suggested a sharp-wit showdown.
According to Trump, in 2018, he took the Montreal Cognitive Assessment.
He offered to Chris:
“Let’s take [the] test right now. Let’s go down, Joe and I will take a test. Let him take the same test that I took.”
Wallace replied that the MCA — which The Donald asserted he “aced” — isn’t difficult:
“It’s not – well it’s not the hardest test. They have a picture, and it says ‘What’s that.’ And it’s an elephant.”
Joe’s more familiar with donkeys.
Moving on, Trump countered:
“No, no, no. It’s all misrepresentation. Because, yes, the first few questions are easy. But I’ll bet you couldn’t even answer the last five questions. I’ll bet you couldn’t. They get very hard, the last five questions.”
Back to the host:
“Well, one of them was, ‘Count back from 100 by seven.'”
But the Prez told Chris he wouldn’t be able to answer a lot of the 35 questions.
The heat was on:
“I’ll get you the test, I’d like to give it. I’ll guarantee you that Joe Biden could not answer those…”
Is it a test of cognition or knowledge?
Either way, politics aside, one thing about Trump seems sure: The man is mentally sharp.
Joe, by contrast, appears to venture into sentences as into a maze. And at some point among the twists and turns of consonants and vowels, he gets irredeemably lost. Send in Rescue and Recovery; someone save the guy.
Yet, last month on Fox, the 77-year-old insisted to Doug McKelway he’s right as rain:
“I’ve been tested, and I’m constantly tested. Look — all you got to do is watch me, and I can hardly wait to compare my cognitive capability to the cognitive capability of the man I’m running against.”
Bold move.
I hope we get a chance to see it. But I doubt we will.
In fact, I think that’s a better test: If Joe agrees to a traditional, in-person one-on-one with Donald Trump, he’s definitely not all there.
