Among Republicans and Democrats, there should be many, many things upon which we all agree.
Unfortunately, it rarely seems that’s much the case.
But in this case — that would be, the looting and burning of America — there’s common ground to be had.
At least, I hope.
Speaking of, The View’s Whoopi Goldberg — a noted left-wing Democrat — did her part Wednesday, by putting it to looters across the nation.
In a video she posted to Instagram, Whoopi made it clear: Enough is enough.
And she believes folks from all walks are putting down their feet:
“People are coming out and saying, ‘You know what, this is enough. Enough is enough.’ Parents — moms and dads — are walking with their kids, which is another reason why, all you looters, you need to stop. Because you’ve destroyed too many people’s dreams around the country.”
They certainly have. Those defacing property, starting fires, and stealing things are creating victims of innocent people — as they claim to be enraged over a group creating victims of innocent people.
It’s so clearly nonsensical, but even more so, it’s so obviously wrong. When you destroy your city, you hurt not only yourself, but your neighbors. Your friends. Your family.

Whoopi tried to crystallize the situation:
“You have made it impossible for a lot of people to get back to their lives. So, I want, please…I know I don’t mean [squat], but I’m just saying, all you looters: Just know your grandmother — your mother’s mother, your brother’s sister, your cousin’s baby — can’t get their medication because you burned down the pharmacy. Or you burned down the bus stop.”
Absolutely.
Heartbreakingly, this is what they’re doing:
Wow. @KSTP just played the full interview of a disabled woman who lives in the area where the riots are happening. Everybody needs to hear this pic.twitter.com/LhKfLvghUN

And — for a feistier version — this is, too:
America has been torn down — not just physically, but by the destructive force of discord.
We have to come together constructively. And agree upon basic truths, things we know to be general goods — such as civility and respect.
Tonight, the country looks far from that place.
Where such a giant chasm is concerned — and as for the obliteration of the nation’s major cities — Whoopi is right: Enough is enough.
