This week, a viral video depicted a Brooklyn teenage mob viciously stomping down a 15-year-old girl.
Nearly 20 young people brutally attacked the unidentified young lady in Crown Heights.
As reported by the New York Post, the assault was retaliation for her allegedly having beaten up another girl at school earlier in the day.
Security footage reveals the horde — many of them boys — kicking her and stomping her head as she lies curled on the sidewalk.
One assailant stole her Air Jordans.
The video is absolutely incredible.
OUTRAGE:this is sickening video of a 15 year old girl viciously attacked by a group of school children. One young man takes the sneakers right off the unconscious victim’s feet. The teenager is in the hospital recovering. We CAN NOT allow this behavior in our community. #Speakup pic.twitter.com/VLLb91fDOM

One witness described the savagery to NYC’s CBS2:
“Her book bag, no shoes — she was just sitting on the floor with no shoes. Then, you see the little one holding her sneakers, running away. Come on. It’s sad. We have to do better as a community. We have to do better as people in general. That this little girl could’ve lost her life is really sad.”
Her wallet was also taken.
According to a nearby store owner, the violence left her “bleeding like crazy.”
The Daily Mail reports she was”transported to NYC Health & Hospitals/Kings County to be treated for head trauma and bruises.”
As of Friday, police were questioning five suspects.
And here’s another shock: All five boys turned themselves in. Accompanied by their parents.
Did the Mom or Dad recognize their children and force them to do the right thing?
In the case of at least one, absolutely.
Speaking to the New York Daily News, 42-year-old Donna Howell recounted seeing her 14-year-old son among the crowd:
“When I saw the video, I literally wanted to kill him with my own hands. I was very, very pissed off.”
She told him he was going:
“He didn’t want to go at first, and I said, ‘No you’re going to go, you’re going to turn yourself in.’ “
What does the video say about the lessons some of our young people have learned? And how — and why — have they learned them?
City Councilman Robert Cornegy observed the change:
“I have never seen in my lifetime this kind of incident where young men perpetrate this kind of violence on an innocent women. I remember growing up under mob mentality in Brooklyn. There were still rules, and the rules said that women were untouchable.”
What do you think — what societal changes have convinced a large group of boys it’s okay to do this to a girl?
I look forward to reading your answers.
