Great news: Your two favorite women are teaming up.
That’s right — Condoleeza Rice and Kate Upto…I mean, Adriana Lima and Candace Owe…that is, Sarah Palin and Jessica Alb…
Oh, wait, no, here we go: Elizabeth Warren and Hillary Clinton — there, that’s better — are gettin’ together to beat that meganastiness of a combo, Trump and his hideous evil.
That’s right — as relayed by NBC News, Pocahontas has turned to the former First Lady for some advice on how to take out the Teflon Don(ald).
They’re the grooviest girlpair since Abba.
According to The Daily Wire, Hillary’s been lookin’ to join with a fellow force to enact the ultimate electoral coup:
Earlier reports indicated that Clinton, determined to re-litigate her 2016 defeat at the hands of then-New York real estate investor Donald Trump, had been reaching out to a potential 2020 candidates, offering her sage advice (though it’s not entirely clear she’s come to terms with precisely why she lost the contest herself). A handful of candidates reportedly took her up on her offer to chat, but Warren has, NBC says, kept an open line.
It’s a new Dream Team, and they’re goin’ all the way to the Olympics.
From NBC:
The two women have kept a line of communication open since the Massachusetts senator decided to run for president…according to several people familiar with their discussions who spoke to NBC on the condition of anonymity because of the political sensitivity of private interactions.
Is Elizabeth too wild for voters’ tastes? The New York Times has recently wondered:
[Some] Democrats worry that [Elizabeth’s] uncompromising liberalism would alienate moderates in battleground states who are otherwise willing to oppose the President.
Right — and when you’re worried you might come across as too far Left, Hillary Clinton’s the perfect person to keep you in check.
Many fear Ms. Warren’s past claims of Native American ancestry would allow Mr. Trump to drown out her policy message with his attacks and slurs against her.
I think they may be correct — see here, here, and here.
They cite her professorial style and Harvard background to argue that she might struggle to connect with voters from more modest circumstances than hers, even though she grew up in a financially strained home in Oklahoma.
Wait — are they saying normal Americans might think Elizabeth’s too smart for them?
Has The New York Times ever been outside…the New York Times??
Either way, let’s get back to the Dynamic Duo.
TDW asserts Hillary’s stoked to “be known as a vocal supporter of female presidential candidates” and reports that “Warren and Clinton are now chatting semi-regularly, forging the kind of faux friendship that will serve them well in the coming months.”
So there you have it — Thelma & Louise are makin’ a break for Pennsylvania Avenue.
It’s the Pennsylvania Polka…hontas.
