Nothing livens up politics like people from the same side attacking each other. And that’s why this present fight for Democratic 2020 glory is set to bring popcorn-worthy entertainment over the next year or so.
Apropos, on Friday, Oval Office contender Joe Biden downgraded freshman congresswoman, committed concentration camp-foe (here) and kamikaze cowfart-fighter (here and here) Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez over her far-left politics. She is, after all — like the Nazis — a socialist.
Here’s what he told CNN:
“By the way, I think Ocasio-Cortez is a brilliant, bright woman, but she won a primary. In the general election fights, who won?. Mainstream Democrats who are very progressive on social issues and very strong on education and health care. My north star is the middle class, when the middle class does well, everyone does well. … Look, it’s center-left, that’s where I am. Where it’s not is way left.”
So Joe’s that moderate kind of guy everyone can vote for. AOC? Not so much.
Fellow socialist — which is to say, another politician who wants to be in control of all products and means of production rather than you having a right to participate in any of it — Bernie Sanders swooped down to outwoke Joe, possibly for a bit of that juicy meat on the young-voter bone.
The old guy even used that newfangled Twitter to do it:
“I’m proud to be working with @AOC and so many other Democrats to pass Medicare for All, debt free college and a Green New Deal. This is the agenda America needs — and that will energize voters to defeat Donald Trump.”

Odd that he’d be proud of it — Ben Shapiro called the Green New Deal “one of the stupidest documents ever written” (here). In it, AOC trumpeted the need to lick the cowfart problem (here).
Surely that left a bad taste in the mouths of many Americans. But perchance not the youngest of ballot box lever-pullers.
Maybe Bernie wants Alexandria’s endorsement — the white-haired dude could probably use a boost from the youngest chick to ever be elected to Congress.
Joe was already on the outs there:
This is a dealbreaker.
There is no “middle ground” w/ climate denial & delay.
Blaming “blue collar” Americans as the main opponents to bold climate policy is gas lobbyist 101.
We’re not going to solve the climate crisis w/ this lack of leadership. Our kids’ lives are at stake. https://t.co/KvrBmaJd75

Bernie booted Biden in that case as well:
There is no “middle ground” when it comes to climate policy. If we don't commit to fully transforming our energy system away from fossil fuels, we will doom future generations. Fighting climate change must be our priority, whether fossil fuel billionaires like it or not.

Perhaps Bernie’ll clinch the nomination and ask AOC to be his VP. A bunch of college students would be thrilled. That combo would be a geriatric/juvenile one-two punch.
As for now, Bernie’s punching Biden. And the show goes on…
