Are Democrats suspicious of toddlers?
On Thursday, Donald Trump Jr. told Fox & Friends congressional Democrats — who, it seems to me, are hurting themselves by obsessing over an electoral ship that’s sailed rather than focusing on a constructive future voyage — aren’t just aimin’ for him in their ongoing search for villainy.
According to Jr., Dems in the House’ve got a taste for the childish: They’re bullseyeing his tiny daughter.
“Chloe, my four-year-old daughter — they want to subpoena her records.”
Host Brian Kilmeade asked:
“Don, when you look at everything you accomplished — regardless of that, they’re coming after your business. And that’s what you’re running. You separated yourself from politics; how has that affected your business, the Trump Organization in particular? What about your finances?”
Trump Jr. said the Dems are insatiable maniacs:
“That is reality. They will go after everything. In the recent subpoena, anyone, any relative — Chloe, my 4-year-old daughter, they want to subpoena her records. I mean, that’s part of the scope. Barron Trump — obviously he’s been doing a lot of stuff they want to subpoena. There’s no reasonableness to this.”
Them dadgum felonious Trump rats! Of the rug variety!
Don Jr. claimed Joe Biden’s business interests have enjoyed a very different treatment:
“If you talk about Joe Biden, who says, ‘China is not a threat,’ because his son takes $1.5 billion into his hedge fund from the Chinese government, that is not a problem. Come on, guys. This is not an equal playing field. I mean, they don’t even pretend that these things are problems. That’s scary.”

Perhaps Biden’s insouciant attitude toward the Chinese government has to do with the fact that his family does not consider them competitors but business partners.
In 2013, then-Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden flew aboard Air Force Two to China. Less than two weeks later, Hunter Biden’s firm inked a $1 billion private equity deal with a subsidiary of the Chinese government’s Bank of China. The deal was later expanded to $1.5 billion. In short, the Chinese government funded a business that it co-owned along with the son of a sitting vice president.
Well, maybe Hunter would receive more scrutiny if he were that dreaded age of treachery: 4.
I hear the Terrible Twos are even worse.
