Legend has it that once every 7 years, when the moon is high and the cosmos in perfect alignment, a conservative will arise from Hollywood and do something everyone there hates.
Gasps will fill the air. Werewolves will howl from the tallest trees. I don’t know if it’s true, but I’ve heard that — for about 24 hours — photos of Ronald Reagan will be resistant to fire, feminists’ armpit hair won’t grow, and cow farts will lose their smell.
It happened when Clint Eastwood appeared at the Republican National Convention, and now it’s come again.
On Friday night, Academy Award-winner and Ray Donovan star Jon Voight posted a video to Twitter, claiming “Donald Trump is the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln.”
Hurry and find a cow — you may still have time.
In the video, Jon encourages Americans not to be “fooled by the political Left.” He claims the country is “witnessing triumph” and is “stronger, safer, and with more jobs because our President has made his every move correct.”
Jon praises the billionaire mogul for taking on such a giant burden:
“This job is not easy, for he’s battling the Left and their absurd words of destruction.”
Eventually, the Freer of Slaves rears his Amish-bearded head:
“There is a moral code of duty that has been passed on from President Lincoln. I’m here today to acknowledge the truth. And I’m here today to tell you, my fellow Americans, that our country is stronger, safer, and with more jobs…”
Then comes the statement to shake all of Beverly Hills:
“[L]et us stand with our President, let us stand with this truth: that President Trump is the greatest president since Abraham Lincoln.”
Jon ends the very classy-looking clip with this:
“God bless America, and may God continue to guide this nation. Much love.”
Wow. Well, well, WELL, Hollywood: How ya like them apples?
Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
Angelina Jolie’s dad — and Brad Pitt’s father-in-law — ain’t mincin’ words.
That’s how you know you’ve made it in Tinseltown — when you can compare the most vilified Republican president in history to Abraham Lincoln and not fear for your career. Or maybe he just doesn’t care. Either way, props, Mr. Voight. Major, major props.
He’s making the Left Coast squeal like a pig.
