I must say…this was insane.
Pennsylvania state Representative Brian Sims recently thought he had a great idea: harass an elderly pro-life lady and document it.

In an 8-minute video posted to Periscope, Brian walks up to the woman — who he condemns as “an old white lady” (Say it ain’t so!) — and just acts like a…well, it’s a word I can’t write here.
Perhaps you have some words to suggest.
Here are some of Brian’s:
“Today’s protester — now, she is an old white lady who is going to try to avoid showing you her face. But the same laws, luckily, that protect her from being out here also protect me from showing you who she is. And so my hope is that you’ll donate $100 for every extra hour that this woman is out here telling people what is right for their bodies.”

The elected lawmaker quizzes the lady based on a complete misunderstanding of the pro-life position:
“How many children have you clothed today?”
This is a real numbskull move. People, of course, aren’t pro-life because they wish to avidly dress kids. They’re pro-life…’cause o’ life.
Otherwise, to speak Brian’s language, if he’s against the death penalty, how many murderers did he clothe today?
Was he walkin’ around with Underoos prior to his stunning sidewalk serenade, doin’ a solid for nekkid violent felons?
In a political debate, the dumbest thing one can do is not address the opposition’s actual cause.
Apropos, there’s a bumper sticker attempting to appeal to pro-death-penalty voters:
“Why do we kill people who kill people to teach people that killing people is wrong?”
The answer is: We don’t. Not to people in favor of the death penalty. Rather, we kill murderers to punish them for murdering.
Brian Sims wanted to punish a senior citizen for being pro-life, and he did just that.
How did this guy get elected, and how does Pennsylvania replace him with someone civil and respectful of the citizenry, not to mention his elders? Plus, he’s white — who needs those people?
Really, his behavior isn’t that surprising — he’s also the example to young tykes who did this.
The voters made a bold choice. And by “bold,” I mean not a good one.
