Here’s a bit of backstory and trivia: In September of last year, I wrote a story about 11-year-old drag queen Desmond Napoles, otherwise known as Desmond is Amazing.

I presented the facts, according to Desmond’s official website and the Facebook page of a gun control group with whom he was involved.

As a result, a left-wing site called my article a “hit piece.” Other sites followed suit.

The odd thing is that I never said anything critical of Desmond; rather, I merely wrote the reality.

We’re living in a bizarre time when things are so strange that simply recognizing their existence can be interpreted as making fun of them.

Putting Desmond wholly aside for a moment, I have a recommendation for the unconventional of the world: If, for example, you’re a woman who takes drugs in order to grow a beard, and then I write that you’re a bearded lady, don’t call me a hater; you really are a lady with a beard. If hearing those words feels like a putdown, then you’re not living a very self-aware life.

After my article about Desmond (here), things ramped up for the wigged elementary schooler: as covered by RedState’s Brandon Morse in December, the drag child made headlines for dancing at a gay bar in Brooklyn while patrons threw cash at him — clearly a sexualization of sorts.

Well, Dez is back in the news, this time because Child Protective Services has visited his home. CPS’s stopover was confirmed Wednesday by his mother, Wendy, on Instagram.

The probe was prompted by video of Desmond performing at the aforementioned gay club, the 3 Dollar Bill.

Additionally, the New York City Administration for Child Services, the New York Police Department, the Child Advocacy Center, the Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Department of Labor, and the District Attorney’s Office all investigated the prepubescent drag queen’s family.

Wendy stated:

“Because of the number of reports they received, our case went all the way to the Governor’s office. We had announced visits & unannounced visits to our home nearly daily & at all hours & Desmond’s school. Our family was probed more intensely than any other case before.”

Over the weekend, she proudly posted ten photos of exonerating letters from agencies, noting that any concerns about child abuse had been “unfounded”:

“We have been accused of child abuse, exploitation & maltreatment to the point that we have been backed into a corner trying to defend ourselves. … We have been under a microscope since early December. I never thought I would have to breach my own privacy & confidentiality to provide proof that has been demanded of us out of malice.”
