Ocasio-Cortez Compares New Deal to Holocaust & Whites to Nazis, Calls for Reparations for Non-Whites

Rep Ocasio-Cortez

In the celestial world of politics, surely few would say Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the north star. Despite her apparent enjoyment of microphones finding their way to the vicinity of her mouth, very little of her words seem to reach the heights of coherence (here and here).

It should be no surprise, then, that syllables fell from her face Monday espousing reparations to all who are not white in America. (How would we pay for that?)

Here we go:

“I think the first thing that we need to do is realize that there’s a balance between this more universal struggle for racial, social and economic dignity, but at the same time, not erasing the individual stories of different communities. You and I are in the same struggle. That does not give me a pass to not talk or acknowledge the black experience and that does not give you a pass to not acknowledge or talk about the plight of Puerto Ricans and people overall. It is in that exchange, and to say ‘you are distinct and you come from a distinct community that is valued and uplifted’ and vice versa.”

To translate:

“Race, race, race, race, race, race, race, race, race.”

Speaking to interviewer Ta-Nehisi Coates during a commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday at Harlem’s Riverside Church, Alexandria dropped some historical science. The New York representative explained that, though the concept of reparations is normally associated with slavery, restitution should be paid to all people who aren’t white, due to their victimization by FDR’s New Deal.

She’s goin’ deep, y’all. Listen and learn:

“People think reparations is reparations for slavery, but really, economically speaking, reparations are for the damage done by the New Deal and redlining because that is where we saw a compounding of the existing inequity from the legacy of slavery, where we drew red lines around black communities. We said white communities will get home loans and they will get access to the basic bedrock of wealth in America and this will be your heirloom and we gave white America the heirloom that appreciated overtime — that people still benefit from today and we did not give to African-American and Mexican communities, Puerto Rican communities.”

“WE” said and did that?

If you’re white, are you currently enjoying your “basic bedrock of wealth”? You know — your Honky family heirloom?

What kind of “Mexican communities” were there in 1930’s America? In case you’re wondering, Mexicans made up less than one percent of the populace.

Next, the Boston University economics minor compared the treatment of nonwhites to the Holocaust:

“It’s important to tell the story of where we’ve been and what others are doing…”

Something tells me she’s not the one to tell that story.

Sorry — back to AOC:

“It’s important to tell the story of where we’ve been and what others are doing as well because we look at, for example, Germany, and how they’ve been able, or their attempts to try to heal after the Holocaust. And Germany paid reparations. And they went through that process and they had that truth-telling process. And until America tells the truth about itself, we’re not going to heal.”

So says Dr. Alexandria Ocasion-Cortez. See the video — courtesy of The Daily Caller — below.

Oh, and by the way: Martin Luther King believed in “judging people not by the color of their skin.”
