For eight years, the mainstream media — actually, all of the Left — had bruised knees: for two full terms, they tripped all over themselves, fawning over Michelle Obama.
That’s fine.
However, their treatment of Melania Trump — arguably the most benign White House presence of any First Lady in many years — has been shameful (please see examples in my four articles here).
Continuing the abuse of Mrs. Trump, an Oregon congressional candidate recently compared her to a prostitute.
Mark Roberts, who is vying for a seat representing the 2nd district, tweeted a response to a post from Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
Kirk asserted Melania’s staff is much smaller than that of Michelle Obama’s, and the smaller team seems to be working fine — Michelle had 44 employees; Trump has only five.
“Did you know:
There are thirty-nine fewer staffers dedicated to The First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS) than under Obama
There are only five staffers dedicated to Melania Trump vs. forty-four staffers who served Michelle Obama”

Independent candidate Roberts thought he’d illustrate the class people hope for in a representative:
“Did you know the First Lady works by the hour? #thinkdirty #hoebag”

The Daily Caller reports that they contacted Roberts’s campaign for a statement about the tweet. According to TDC, the response — which appears to be from Roberts himself — came thusly:
“Sorry Nick never heard of The Daily Caller. I think I’m too big for you, but feel free to send me a link to some of your work.”
Ahhh, that makes me laugh.
TDC asked why Roberts used “thinkdirty” and “hoebag” to refer to the First Lady of the United States.
An email came back:
“I think the answers to your questions are self explanatory. Have a god [sic] day and keep the donations coming.”
Here’s hoping Roberts has much, much more time to tweet away — unencumbered by the demands of a political career.
