NFL Daft: Recruiting Idiocy and Benching Truth-- Reverse Engineering the Melee

This is all ridiculous.

I’m speaking of the NFL situation at the White House.

Today, President Trump tweeted at the Philadelphia Eagles, who he disinvited to the White House.

The team was set to appear for an event in honor of their Super Bowl victory. In its place, the White House would host “A Celebration of America.”

Trump explained the situation in an earlier statement:

“The Philadelphia Eagles are unable to come to the White House with their full team to be celebrated tomorrow. They disagree with their President because he insists that they proudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart, in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country.”

He added that Eagles fans would be welcome, “to be part of a different type of ceremony — one that will honor our great country, pay tribute to the heroes who fight to protect it, and loudly and proudly play the National Anthem.”

This occurred because Malcolm Jenkins, Chris Long, Brandon Graham, and others had announced they would not be visiting the White House due to their disagreement with the President.

The NFL-Trump feud began with players kneeling in protest during “The Star Spangled Banner.”

The knee-taking was initiated by now-discarded San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who refused to stand in honor of the flag and — in practices and games — wore socks portraying police officers as pigs.

Colin knelt in protest of a national epidemic: cops around the country were targeting and unjustly murdering innocent blacks.

Kaepernick believed in this societal scourge because he is a moron.

Word to the wise: before you protest something, take just a minute to find out whether it exists.

Here’s another pearl: before you join the protest to illustrate solidarity, find out whether the person saying there is something to protest is a complete imbecile.

These two tidbits haven’t been followed, and subsequently, thousands of hours have been devoted to a topic that is founded upon a notion which is abjectly untrue. Yet, not many members of the media are willing to test the validity of the issue whatsoever, let alone have the objectivity to admit it is nonsense.

And so, here we are. At the top of a skyscraper constructed on nothingness. At this point, it’s Trump Tower. But this house is built upon sinking sand.
