McConnell Lashes Out at Trump's "Excessive Expectations" (VIDEO)

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell reflexively inflates his throat pouch when faced with having to actually act.

This is pathetic:

Speaking at a Rotary Club gathering in Kentucky on Monday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell vented about how President Donald Trump’s lack of political experience has led to him setting “excessive expectations” for legislative priorities.

“Our new president, of course, has not been in this line of work before. And I think he had excessive expectations about how quickly things happen in the democratic process,” McConnell told the group. “So part of the reason I think people feel we’re underperforming is because too many artificial deadlines — unrelated to the reality of the complexity of legislating — may not have been fully understood.”

I don’t know if Mitch McConnell is the most ineffective Senate majority leader in the history of that august body, but he is certainly in the running. His driving force is aggrandizing power to himself and it is coupled with an epic incompetence that prevents him from actually using that power. He was reduced to “prison bitch” status by Harry Reid and so cowed and psychologically dominated that even when he became majority leader he couldn’t bring himself to actually oppose Reid. He has raised Failure Theater to an art form and has devoted much more energy to attacking any candidate who is vaguely conservative (he’s heavily involved in the ongoing character assassination of Mo Brooks in Alabama to benefit Luther Strange) than to advancing conservative legislation or confirming Trump’s nominees.

Apparently, Trump’s assumption that McConnell would get off his ass and actually do something was excessive. All I can say to that is, “Mr. President, welcome to the club, we’ve felt that way since at least 2010.”
