JournoList ‘Sick Puppies’ Planned Attacks on Sarah Palin

Systematic Femisogyny In Action

The most insidious form of media bias is deciding what to cover and, more importantly, what not to cover.  The revelations uncovered by The Daily Caller in regard to Journolist have been damning on that front. The latest involve Sarah Palin and while anyone with a speck of honesty already realized that the media has been out to marginalize her from the very beginning, Journolist members took it to an even more egregious level. I know. I didn’t think that was possible either, but apparently it is.

While it is obviously not unheard of for colleagues to discuss stories of the day, that wasn’t the case here. This was a group of reputed (or refudiated!) journalists colluding with openly leftist opinionators to not report the news, but to shape it. As evidenced in these postings to JournoList:

Chris Hayes of the Nation wrote in with words of encouragement, and to ask for more talking points. “Keep the ideas coming! Have to go on TV to talk about this in a few min and need all the help I can get,” Hayes wrote.

Time’s Joe Klein then linked to his own piece, parts of which he acknowledged came from strategy sessions on Journolist. “Here’s my attempt to incorporate the accumulated wisdom of this august list-serve community,” he wrote. And indeed Klein’s article contained arguments developed by his fellow Journolisters

Worse, the goal of the framing of the narrative was to marginalize and diminish a woman by using her womanhood itself against her for political means. In fact, one member, Daniel Levy of the Century Foundation, referred to the list as Obama’s “non-official campaign” and admitted he believed it was their job to discredit Palin:

This seems to me like an occasion when the non-official campaign has a big role to play in defining Palin, shaping the terms of the conversation and saying things that the official [Obama] campaign shouldn’t say – very hard-hitting stuff, including some of the things that people have been noting here – scare people about having this woefully inexperienced, no foreign policy/national security/right-wing christia wing-nut a heartbeat away ……

That wasn’t even the worst of it.

What followed was a clear attempt to, once again, Use the Women ™ under the guise of being For The Women ™ by playing up the perpetual victim-hood sexist trump card as a way to dehumanize and demean Sarah Palin and her accomplishments. How did they attempt to do this?  An idea first proffered by Suzanne Nossell, ironically of Human Rights Watch. It was then enthusiastically agreed to by more on the list, showing a classic case of femisogyny from the Left:

“I think it is and can be spun as a profoundly sexist pick.  Women should feel umbrage at the idea that their votes can be attracted just by putting a woman, any woman, on the ticket no matter her qualifications or views.”

Mother Jones’s Stein loved the idea. “That’s excellent! If enough people – people on this list? – write that the pick is sexist, you’ll have the networks debating it for days. And that negates the SINGLE thing Palin brings to the ticket,” he wrote.

Another writer from Mother Jones, Nick Baumann, had this idea: “Say it with me: ‘Classic GOP Tokenism’.”

The single thing she brings to the ticket — her fancy womb. Once again, liberal femisogynists reducing a woman to the sum of her girly parts only. All while hilariously claiming that they believe women should feel umbrage that their vote should be attracted merely by dint of a fellow woman on the ticket. Hello? That is their entire modus operandi! Even down to the Supreme Court. Aren’t we always supposed to be thrilled when, say, a woman is nominated for the Supreme Court merely because she’s a woman?

This is how they ultimately will end up failing; their hypocrisy knows no bounds and is now incredibly transparent. The depth of their insane hatred for Sarah Palin has done more to expose their femisogyny than anything in my lifetime.

Sarah Palin, with customary courage and straight-talk openness, spoke out about the media to the Daily Caller:

“With the shackles off, I relish my freedom to call it like I see it, while starving the media beast that was devouring the false reports about me, my staff and my loved ones,” she said….

“…The lamestream media is no longer a cornerstone of democracy in America. They need help. They need to regain their credibility and some respect. There are some pretty sick puppies in the industry today. They really need help,” Palin said.

Sick puppies, indeed, as further evidenced by an earlier revelation regarding the more than disturbing desire of a JournoList member to watch Rush Limbaugh die in agony, while she “laughed loudly like a maniac.” What’s more, the list, comprised of mainly white males near as I can tell, indulged in the systematic patriarchal oppression (that’s right, faux feminists, I’m using your own term against you. Because you lie) of a woman merely because she didn’t suit their political agenda. An agenda that they used their positions as alleged journalists to further.

While they may have succeeded in aiding Barack Obama to win the election, ultimately they will fail. In part, we can thank Sarah Palin for that. The woman they tried to destroy has actually hoisted them on their own petard, by exposing them for what they are – not journalists, but corrupt ideologues who will stop at nothing, not even personal destruction, to further an agenda.

I, for one, thank her immensely.

Go back to the primaries

clintonformccain Thursday, July 22nd at 8:13PM EST (link)

Some of us saw this misogyny of the Democrat Party and their media lapdogs long before Sarah Palin came on the scene.

Here’s an interesting question. There were several dozen debates during the Democratic primaries. There were black debates. There were Hispanic debates. There were gay debates. There were even debates for one armed paper hangers. But, there was never a debate on womens issues and, in fact, there was never a single question about women’s issues. Hmmmm.

Palin did very

fbks (Diary) Friday, July 23rd at 5:59AM EST (link)

well with the ADF&G and predator management. She was willing to take on the entrenched anti-hunters both in the ADF&G and the well funded groups who have blocked predator management for many years.
She also made very good Board of Game appointments which has improved remarkably well, the BOG decision for the removal of the predator “buffer zone” around Denali National Park and Preserve as a pivotal example.
Parnell has also done well and defended the appointment of Corey Rossi as Division of Wildlife Director in the face of anti hunter hysteria. The progress in management of one of Alaska’s premier resources, wildlife, initiated by Palin is an achievement that required the ability to at least pour the piss poor ADF&G obstructionists out and give them the boot.

There's a lot more to the government than DF&G,

Achance (Diary) Friday, July 23rd at 12:21PM EST (link)

and even there she just continued Murkowski’s policies. She ran off all of Murkowski’s appointees, gave a few of her Wasilla buddies jobs, and left the government in the hands of congenital ‘crats and Knowles holdovers. ACES has basically stopped development of new fields since they require high oil prices and the taxes are confiscatory at high prices. AGIA will NEVER produce a gas line. In fact, it is unlikely that there will ever be a gas line from Alaska to the Lower 48; there’s just too much oil at lower prices from other sources. Though the Lower 48′s delicate sensibilities won’t tolerate an LNG terminal, the Mexicans will, so, the LNG goes from wherever it is cheapest, Malaysia, Indonesia right now, to a Mexican LNG port and into a pipeline to the Lower 48. That way the Greenies and NIMBYs don’t have to see it, the stove just lights when they push the button.

Meanwhile, Southcentral Alaska lost three years or more in getting a replacement gas source and is much closer to the day the stove doesn’t light when you push the button. Sarah Palin had the great good fortune of coming to power when the Justice Department had everyone in Alaska politics cowed and when the price of oil was stratospheric. Everybody does a good job when they have that kind of money to throw around and nobody will dare open their mouth in opposition.

Many people bought the “last eight years” of Republicans in 2008 even though the Democrats have been the Majority party in both Houses since January 20, 2007. The "Non Official Campaign"

Joliphant (Diary) Thursday, July 22nd at 10:30PM EST (link)

“Daniel Levy of the Century Foundation noted that Obama’s “non-official campaign” would need to work hard to discredit Palin. “This seems to me like an occasion when the non-official campaign has a big role to play in defining Palin, shaping the terms of the conversation and saying things that the official [Obama] campaign shouldn’t say”

First once again I think everyone who watched that campaign understood that the press wasn’t just in the tank for obama they were rounding up people and trying to drag them into the tank like some sort of gone amok giant squid. But to see things like this is beyond the pale. Normally you would think that they would just be in denial when it came to violating what are journalistic codes of conduct and reporting on something that were active advocates of. Here we see they were cynically using their position and likely to the detriment of their employers. Not a very pretty thing at all.

I am no expert, but at some point does this shadow campaign violate the campaign finance reform laws the libs have shackled the country with ?

The_Gadfly (Diary) Friday, July 23rd at 1:07PM EST (link)

Legally, no it doesn’t. But only because the legislation specifically excludes news media from its language. Frankly, were it not for the damage it has done to so many other honorable people in the country, I would enjoy seeing McCain hoist on the petard of his mavericking. The only two things worse than him being the primary sponsor of this monstrosity were Bush signing it and the SCOTUS upholding it. I wish it were possible to bring the issue before a logical SCOTUS again and raise the specifics of the haters at Journolist and the corrosive effect McCain-Feingold has had on our civic processes.

Individually and collectively, they are subversive fifth columnists. The appearance in any publication of any of their by-lines should mark that paper or magazine as “libre non grata” (if there isn’t such a term, I just coined it). Any of them appearing on a radio or television show should activate a station or channel change.

And the editor(s) of said publications and program coordinator(s) and/or hosts of said shows, should receive a “heads up” on why their publication or show is no longer on one’s reading list or listening fare.

Some Thoughts

Repair_Man_Jack (Diary) Friday, July 23rd at 9:02AM EST (link)

1) John McCain did Sarah Palin no favors by picking her as Veep. She needed about 5 or 6 more years of seasoning at the national level before she jumped intot he shark pool that is national electoral politics. She has made the best out of a situation where she was thrown in over her head. I do respect her for that. I, like you, am disgusted at how some on the Left have made fun of her for keeping, rather than snuffing, her child when she found out it had Down’s.

2) Rush has also done great work for the cause. He drives Leftists out of their trees, and is great to have on the air as a counterbalance to the JournOlist gang. On the other hand, he is also a troubled individual who fights against a pian killer addictiont hat will somewhat hobble him for the rest of his life. As a result, he will probably die before he would have otherwise passed on.

I guess we just need to keep things in perspective and not worship heroes like the idiots on the Left who supported Obama do. Rush and Sarah are good allies. But they, like myself, have their drawbacks and faults as human beings.

Sarah Palin has this amazing ability to skip through a crisis or controversy (confected or otherwise) without missing a beat. After that Couric interview and the 08 campaign, people were totally writing her off. Then after her resignation as Alaska Governor folks there was the same sort of derision but she’s soldiered on unscathed.

On Journolist, I’m actually quite surprised some of these people have gotten off scott free. I wrote to KCRW and Bloomberg about Sarah Spitz and Ryan Donmoyer but didn’t get a response and Human Events are reporting that neither are facing any sanction.

All of my long life I have heard Republicans (Conservatives) grumbling about this or that newspaper being obviously biased against them. The answer is not to try to change that bias, but start our own directly competing local newspaper with balanced, complete reportage and conservative editorial policy. That would require putting money where your mouth is. It would also require far more young Conservatives becoming newspaper reporters. But, as the potential money to be made as publisher or reporter is questionable, Conservatives shy away. They would rather just complain.

The MSM is hurting bad, very bad. The NYT was bailed out with a 750 million loan from Carlos Slim. The rest are in or near bankruptcy. They cannot afford to lose advertisers, any advertisers, nor can they afford for people not to buy their securities and bonds. They are asking for an Obama bailout. Its time to push them over the edge with an organized, massive boycott of any advertiser that supports their left wing programs. The fact that their editorial writers are conspiring to malign and smear honest American leaders is not surprising, but such a public record is very surprising. Go on make fun of anything you don’t understand or because it isn’t the same world you live in with the plastic persona’s and elitist vision. Just because you have an education and a diploma in hand doesn’t mean you’re all that smart. Many a millionaire made their fortunes without a high school education. In many cases intelligence is measured by your environment and the interaction. Yet the media is obsessed with the notion that you are one of the elite simply because you attend Harvard or Yale and by attending you’re somehow more intelligent than the guy who went to his state university. In my lifetime I have taught myself many things that I needed to succeed in my place of business to the point I eventually owned the business.

How many times has the phrase “can’t tell a book by its cover” been said? I believe when McCain picked Palin it was a shock to the elitist members of the media because they saw what everyone else did when Palin spoke to the national audience. She spoke and still speaks with the average Joe American. Her style is one that connects with the people in a language that the media diminishes as “Folksy” but it is every day American minus the Teleprompters. Palin is still a voice that many can understand and agree with message she delivers. With all due respect it isn’t the language of Harvard and the pompous Professor speak of Obama. Palin has a language of let’s get in there and do something,” and I’m down side by side with you.” Put that next to Obama and many journalists and you get “stupidly” that may be grammatically correct but to Joe American it sounds as false as a three dollar bill. Is Joe American dumber than a stick don’t bet on it. The balance is favoring Palin and less on Obama and the media of which I would say they acted stupidly with their JournoList attack.

Just an After Thought

Just whose numbers are plummeting while Palin’s appeal is winning elections and casting a shadow on the nation? Perhaps the bitter media is cranky because their “Messiah” is an empty suit going no where… come on be honest the next time President Obama speaks do you really give a hoot? Or do you rather tune him out now because his message is old and recycled.
When you get down and dirty you know some of his achievements were not based on performance but backdoor deals and sneaky tricks and sours from the bribes given just to pass their bills. And now we are finding out whats been delivered and few like plate that the Havard man put on the table.

As for me I find myself wishing for a little bit of what “Momma Griz” can cook. Can’t be worse than what we’ve been fed so far.

Ungrammatical? Mayhaps. But Prescient and visionary Nonetheless

Dear “cowatchman”, You, dear poster, have hit the proverbial nail on its “Golldarn Head”. “I [too] ain’t had no proper fetchin’ up”, as a dear friend from Nebraska has noted in the past, but i too can recognize the plain truth and commonsense when confronted with it. And Mrs. Palin exudes all of the virtues we, as pioneers, built this nation with. Hard headed, honest appraisals of problems and the honesty to voice and implement the equally hard headed solutions needed to solve them. How refreshing. And how sad it is that it now is so (remarkable implied).
