The DNC ad the… DNC doesn’t want you to see!

Yeah!

I RedHotted it earlier – its basic message was “vote Democrat, or you get back George W. Bush.” Seriously, that was all it was: they didn’t dare put in any of their own politicians. Heck, even the guy on the assembly line apparently insisted on having his face covered. It was so bad, in fact – and so subject to gleeful mockery – that Le-gal In-sur-rec-tion just discovered that the DNC pulled the video. I guess enough people asked “Does getting Bush back mean we get 5% unemployment back, too?” to make this ad not quite the slam dunk that the Democrats had expected.

Both LI and Mediate still have copies – for now** – so check them out.  In the meantime, here’s a still from a different DNC’s current front-page video on their YouTube channel.  They think that they’re saying “Rise up and vote for us, please please please…”  but really:

…you know that they’re saying “Brraaaaaiiiiiinnnns*.”

:pause:

Weren’t these guys supposed to be good at communicating? – Because I’m just not feeling it, here.

Moe Lane

*Seriously, man. ‘Raise Your Vote.’  And then apparently have it go off and eat the brains of the living.

Does that mean you’re on the dole or have a cushy job in the public sector?

erp617 I couldn't really tell you what I mean

ywhyvon1 Saturday, August 21st at 6:11PM EST (link)

No, not on the dole and am self-emloyed. I guess mainly, when living was easy, I spent money ( or charged on credit) like tomorrow would never come.

Now, that I;m reaping what I have sown and not just buying store brand peas instead of LeSuer but rather I find the ads for peas in magazines are tasty when you add the picture of a pat of I can’t beleive it’s not butter:)

I also know, that however hard I try, I still can’t draw blood from a turnip.

Conservatives, and neoconservatives get it. All others are still waiting around for someone else to figure out how to draw blood from a turnip, right after that “someone else” finishes up the formula for turning base metal to gold

over what we have now. He wasn’t a perfect President, but he didn’t believe in taking us down a socialist (progressive?) road either.

we were safer under Geo Bush than under Obama

joecollins (Diary) Saturday, August 21st at 11:11AM EST (link)

We were not attacked after 9/11 because Bush would have hammered back. Now, under Dear Leader, we’ve been attacked at Fort Hood, Detroit, Little Rock, . . .

I would rather have him too right now - but

bs61 Saturday, August 21st at 10:42PM EST (link)

The Patriot Act, Prescription Medicare and TARP all reek progressive to me – they are not just Dems, they just move us there more slowly without raising taxes. They also never clean up what the Dems have done either! A lot of people I know will give them one more shot, then their done. I’m not sure the entrenched R’s realize that yet.

That's why we promote the most conservative candidates here.

TNJim (Diary) Saturday, August 21st at 11:29PM EST (link)

If the R’s blow this “one more shot”, should they prevail in November, what do you propose we do? Vote D? There certainly is no viable 3rd party right now. I’d rather have a moderate Republican than a far left, progressive Democrat any day. I have no faith that there is such a thing as a center right Democrat either, after the Blue Dogs ended up voting with Pelosi more often than not the past 19 months.

Should they blow this “one more shot”, we should come out even stronger for the conservative candidates. The ones who believe in the Constitution, American exceptionalism, free markets in all aspects of the economy. We can’t lose sight of that if the R’s blow this one more shot. It may well take more than one election cycle, with the constituents staying on their backs, to accomplish this. As to the entrenched R’s we’ve already primaried out some, Bennett of Utah coming to mind first. The others better realize what’s up. That’s an example of shoving their feet into the fire, rather than just holding their feet to it.

Offshore windmills?

vitalis Saturday, August 21st at 1:10AM EST (link)

I did a quick Google to confirm, I’m pretty sure that the US doesn’t have any operational offshore wind farms, meaning those in the ad are probably stock footage from one in Europe. Just the thing you want in an ad as you talk about “manufacturing made right hear at home”. Kinda like the print ads they made about our troops, only showing Canadian/British troops instead.

Maybe the "braaaaaaains" ad is an attempt to sway the Zombie-American vote.

Next93 (Diary) Saturday, August 21st at 1:24AM EST (link)

It’s starting to look like this cycle, the Democrats can’t even count on the graveyard vote to carry them through close elections.

BTW, I’m going to look into purchasing the web domain “FelonsForFranken.org”

Obama was The One in 2008.
He’ll be a BIGGER one in 2012.

Is that NPR, CBS, TPM and many, many others embedded this video and when you click on all of them,… it’s private. Very in your face that it’s been withdrawn from the most major of media outlets.

Like they always said when I was a j-student, media published its mistakes on the ‘front page’…

They get what they deserve….

Their problem was declaring, "You could get back GWB!"

Adjoran (Diary) Saturday, August 21st at 3:18AM EST (link)

And the voters’ response is, “Okay!”

They should stick with Hoover, but after half a century of effective federal control over public education, most citizens today would ask, “What does Grandma’s vacuum cleaner have to do with the election?”

A Bush in the Office is Worth Two Obamas..

robehren Saturday, August 21st at 3:31AM EST (link)

I would be rid of Obama and back to Bush in a second. At least Bush was only liberal in his spending. We could have fixed that. Obama is so many times worse the comparison is ludicrous. Yes, yes I miss Mr. Bush bad as he was.

who were angry that his inner blueblood patrician seemed to take over the last couple of years of the 2nd term and he did weird things like prescription coverage and not making even simple responses to scurrilous attacks by the Dems he could have/shoud have. In hindsight we see some critical things about those frustrating times: 1. Karen Hughes and Ari Fleischer had left, increasing Rove’s influence. That balance that worked so well the first 4 yrs, was out of whack. 2. Now we truly see what miserable bunch of RINOs the WH had to work with in Congress, it couldn’t have been encouraging. Pity (not) the lib Presidential historians. They have been compiling for years material to write great meaningful books with profound titles that will be read in colleges for decades, about *our loss in Iraq*. Oops, GW won *his* war, it goes down as one in the win column with the public and on the military tally sheet. How are they going to turn this one?.

The point cannot be made often enough: Modern liberalism, as embodied in the Obama presidency, is the defender of the status quo. And the status quo is a road to economic ruin. Political forces cannot redistribute the wealth that the economic system does not produce.

Yes and the libs will have to be very careful

cactusjack Saturday, August 21st at 11:33AM EST (link)

with this because their guy Barry is coming up to a few decision points of his own, especially with Iran. The comparison of Bush with Harry Truman is very apt. Both were Presidents who suddenly had to make a lot of very profound, once in a half century type decisions, *fast*. HST: atomic bomb and containment policy. GWB: Immediate reponse to 9/11 and putting US on war footing against terrorism. While fighting off recession (tax cuts). History and the American public will recognize they got their decisions bascially right and put America on a correct track it had to follow, through many succeeding Presidents. Their stock in hisotry and in the esteem of the American people, has now where to go but up & further up as time passes.

A fraudulent Tea Party ticket in Michigan

ashland_avenue (Diary) Saturday, August 21st at 1:30PM EST (link)

Funny things seem to be happening in Michigan.

From The Oakland Press, but in other MI media as well

======================================================

Oakland County Clerk Ruth Johnson alleged Friday that there appears to be fraudulent candidate filings for a group called Tea Party, which is seeking political party status on the November ballot.

Johnson, in a news conference Friday afternoon, said she was contacted by one of the candidates listed by the group who told her he never filled out any paperwork to run for office and is living out of state.

Johnson is one of five Republicans seeking the GOP nomination for secretary of state at the Republican state convention next weekend.

The man, Aaron Tyler, was listed on Tea Party filings with the secretary of state’s office as a candidate for the Oakland County commission seat held by Republican Bill Bullard of Highland.

Johnson said Tyler is formerly from Springfield Township and now living in Arizona.

While we are bashing Republican Presidents for not being conservative enough

Adjoran (Diary) Sunday, August 22nd at 5:22AM EST (link)

Remember that since WWII, the only truly conservative candidates who won the Republican nomination were Goldwater and Reagan. Nixon was a conservative in philosophy, but an even more fervent believer in political pragmatism – as when he proposed the EPA to block Democratic plans for a cabinet-level department with even more ominous powers.

Besides those two, McCain’s been our most conservative nominee since Alf Landon. So the pickin’s are pretty slim.
