From what I hear he is a family man who is very strong in the Mormon church. His area is is extremely strong on 2nd amendment issues, the right to life, and religion.

Plus, Philpot will probably get funding from Eagle PAC to help his campaign. Eagle PAC was formed by my former congressman Chris Cannon to help local Mormons support conservative candidates. Also his brother, Joe Cannon, is the editor of the Deseret News. I expect there to be a ton of local support for Philpot.

Looked on his bio and he grew up at least some in Oregon. He was always a nice guy.
Anyway, best of luck to him, it would be a personal sort of good sign to me to see a guy I know isn’t a to-the-core sleazeball get elected somewhere. Pretty cool.
