Is the Trump administration the three-ring circus it appears to be? Nobody over there seems to be in charge. As Patterico wrote on Sunday, March 5, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said that until an investigation is conducted, the White House nor President Trump would comment further.
Here is what Spicer said on Twitter:
(4/4) Neither the White House nor the President will comment further until such oversight is conducted.

So then what in the world is Sarah Huckabee Sanders doing all over television talking about the issue and doing so with what appears to be any first-hand knowledge of what President Trump is saying? Here she is on ‘This Week’ being questioned by Martha Raddatz:
RADDATZ: And Sarah, I just want to go back again, to the president’s tweet one more time. And Sean Spicer tweeting today as well — reports that potentially politically motivated investigations immediately ahead of 2016 election are very troubling.
Sounds like the White House is really doubling down on what President Trump says happened.
SANDERS: As we should, Martha. If this happened, once again, this would be the greatest abuse of power and overreach that’s probably ever occurred in the executive branch. And something that certainly —
RADDATZ: Well, what about these accusations? You keep saying, if, if, if. The President of the United States said it was a fact. He didn’t say I read a story in Breitbart or “The New York Times” or wherever else. He said, just found out that Obama had my wires tapped in Trump Tower. That’s not an if.
SANDERS: Look, I — I will let the president speak for himself. But in terms of where we are in the White House, our ask —
RADDATZ: You’re his spokesperson.
SANDERS: And I’m speaking about it right now.
RADDATZ: But you’re backing off of it. You’re backing off of it.
SANDERS: How am I backing off of it while I’m saying that I think that this happened —
RADDATZ: Because you’re saying if.
SANDERS: And I think the American people have a right to know. And I think that we should get definitive answers. I think we need to put out hard facts that show that this happened.
RADDATZ: OK, that’s what President Trump was clearly doing in those tweets.
She also appeared on the ‘Today’ show (today) and was repeatedly asked by Savannah Guthrie where President Trump got his information about the wiretapping and what she says is remarkable:

“I haven’t had the chance to have the conversation directly with the President.”
If she hasn’t spoken to the President, what in the world is she doing on television, speaking for him?
That wasn’t her only stop today. She was on Good Morning America and was asked about James Comey (now remember, she said she hasn’t spoken to the President):

“I don’t think he does.” The Deputy Press Secretary to the President of the United States said she thinks President Trump believes James Comey, the Director of the FBI, is a liar.
These interviews are only going to cause more problems. It’s almost as if this White House doesn’t have a communications apparatus in place to coordinate everything.
Shocking.
