Having moved recently, I decided to stick it to cable and forgo television altogether so I may have missed seeing the Mother’s Day commercial where Starbucks and Oprah join hands to push the goodness of lesbian motherhood — introducing Oprah’s new Teavana Oprah Chai tea. The commercial entices the audience to celebrate all kinds of moms and slips in a lesbian couple as part of the mix. See for yourself (two moms in love starts at :24):

As we continue to watch the gates of hell belch out this bizarre filth into our culture, it’s good to remember there is nothing new under the sun and God is not caught unaware:

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: Romans 1:24-26

So don’t feel overly discouraged or overwhelmed at what is happening. Jesus spoke of the time when he would return being like it was in the days of Noah. And the prophet Isaiah spoke of a time where “darkness would cover the earth and gross darkness the people; but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.”

As the world and those in rebellion against God take their stand, those who love God shall refuse to bow to the darkness and their light will shine brighter and brighter. This is not a time to retreat, compromise or cower. It’s an opportunity to stand for the truth no matter the cost. As the apostle Peter wrote: “But if ye suffer for righteousness sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled.”

Be bold and be brave, Christians. In the end, we win.
