The Alien Terrorist Removal Court has been in place for 30 years and has been unused in all that time. Leave it to the Trump administration to fire this process up and use it to get, to put it mildly, undesirable people out of our country.
Case in point: An Afghan alien who helped her son plot and fund a scheme to conduct mass shootings at polling places on Election Day, 2024. Her son is now in prison and will be deported after his sentence. Now, Nazira Haji Zada, who has been living in Fort Worth, Texas, has been arrested and will be repatriated to Afghanistan.

The DOJ post reads:
Department of Justice Files First Case in U.S. Alien Terrorist Removal Court to Deport Afghan Alien Who Supported Her Family’s Plans for Election-Day Shooting.
“Congress created the Alien Terrorist Removal Court three decades ago to remove from the United States alien terrorists who never should have been here in the first place,” said Acting Attorney General @DAGToddBlanche. “The allegations in this case show the matriarch of an ISIS-sympathizing family aiding in a plot to launch a mass casualty attack on American voters on Election Day. The Department’s application in this court makes clear that terrorists have no place in the United States of America.”
"Matriarch" and "Afghanistan" aren't really words one expects to read in the same sentence, but that sure seems to be the case here. The administration doesn't seem inclined to waste any time using this process, either; we reported on the stand-up of this court earlier in July.
A Department of Justice press release has more details:
The Justice Department has filed the first-ever case in the U.S. Alien Terrorist Removal Court (ATRC), seeking to remove Nazira Haji Zada, 47, residing in Fort Worth, Texas. Zada, the matriarch of an alien Afghan family, is being removed for her role in a plot to commit an ISIS-inspired mass shooting on Election Day in 2024 for which her son, Abdullah Haji Zada, and son-in-law, Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, were previously arrested and convicted. The application to remove Nazira Haji Zada was filed on July 15. Zada was arrested earlier this week and will appear before the ATRC’s Chief Judge Joan N. Ericksen in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, July 30, at 11:00 a.m.
We have to tip our cap to the law enforcement officers who discovered this plot and stopped it; imagine the chilling effect such an attack, targeted on the very foundation of our republic, our elections, may have had. And if anyone ever wanted to hand the American Left an argument to implement mail-in voting for every election at every level, here you are; it would destroy election integrity, and give a gang of Afghan terrorists a heckler's veto over our elections.
And, again, here we have an example of someone who should never have been allowed into the United States in the first place, and yet, here she was, apparently with her entire family.
This may be the first use of the Alien Terrorist Removal Court, but it sure shouldn't be the last. There are too many people in the United States who shouldn't be; not just jihadis (although that's enough of a problem in and of itself) but cartel members, gang members, all manner of goblins who we have no place for. These are people who came to the United States to cause trouble, and now the Trump administration has another tool to get them the heck out of our country.
And, yes, this is what we voted for.
