New: Armed 'Joker' Nabbed After Running Through Traffic, Firing Pistol Near Trump Golf Course in CA

Why is it that any property bearing the name "Trump" these days tends to attract armed nutcases? Case in point: One Sean Steiner, a resident of Arizona, has been arrested for allegedly firing a shot from a pistol in the hills near the Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. When he was arrested, he was wearing body armor and carrying a semi-automatic rifle decorated in the manner of the Batman villain "Joker."

Yes, really.

The post continues:

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, witnesses reported seeing the suspicious man running through traffic near the Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes.

He allegedly told responding deputies he fired a shot in a nearby landslide area to "get some anger out." He was wearing a heavy duty ballistic vest capable of stopping rifle rounds, according to authorities.

Pro tip: If you have that much anger to get out, a firearm really isn't the best tool for dealing with it, especially when you're wandering around near a property owned by the family of the President of the United States.

A Fox News report has more details:

Witnesses reported seeing the man, identified as Sean Steiner of Glendale, Arizona, hiking in the area with a duffel bag, a step stool and a rifle, before he allegedly ran into traffic on Palos Verdes Drive South around 5 p.m. on March 29.

Deputies arrived to find the rifle painted green and purple and emblazoned with the words "HA HA HA HA" and the line made famous by the late Heath Ledger, "Why so serious?"

The tip had also been painted orange, "resembling a toy gun," according to authorities.

"Not only was the rifle loaded with a round in the chamber and a full magazine inserted… he admitted he had just fired one of the pistols near the landslide area to 'get some anger out,'" according to a statement from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Lomita Station.

OK, now Mr. Steiner has not yet been the subject of a psychiatric evaluation (although it's a safe bet that will happen), but I think it's safe to say he's a nut.

In addition to the Joker-themed rifle (and that in itself is an eyebrow-raiser), Steiner was reportedly also armed with two loaded handguns, one of which was presumably the one he used to fire a shot at... something.

As of this writing, there is no indication as to his political beliefs, if any; some people are apolitical in addition to being loony-tunes, after all. But the very fact that he was wandering around with three loaded guns near a Trump property might yield some clues as to where Mr. Steiner lands on the political spectrum.

Also, the body armor: The report says that Steiner was wearing armor capable of stopping rifle rounds. That means heavy armor, probably with a ceramic plate. It doesn't seem likely that Mr. Steiner would be wearing that heavy, hot armor unless he thought he might need it.
