Watch: U.S. Ambassador Says Gulf Leaders United Against Iran

On Friday, the United States Representative to the United Nations, Mike Waltz, appeared on the Fox News program The Story with host Martha MacCallum, and had some interesting remarks as to his take on the various Persian Gulf states, and how they are reacting to Iran's increasingly untargeted, random aggression. And, as has been becoming clear for some time now, it's not likely to end well for Iran.

Ambassador Waltz said:

Look, it's clearly part of Iran's strategy, Martha, to sow discord, to attack their neighbors, our allies across the Gulf, and try to separate them from Washington by attacking their infrastructure, their ports, their oil and natural gas facilities, even their international airports, and otherwise. And it's doing the exact opposite. It is backfiring on Iran. I have met with nearly every ambassador in the Gulf just in the last 48 hours. I've never seen them more unified. I've never seen them more outraged. I've talked to them quite a bit. Their population is under attack. And I think you're going to see that unity get more and more solid as the days go on.

Iran clearly thought their neighbors in the Persian Gulf could be browbeaten, intimidated. It isn't working.

The thing is, a year ago, ten years ago, Iran may have been able to browbeat some of these other nations. When Barack Obama was president, it may well have worked. When Joe Biden (or whoever was really running the show) was president, it may well have worked. But while Barack Obama delivered Iran pallets of money, a sort of Middle Eastern danegeld, and Joe Biden delivered them a lot of hearty laughs at the idea of America electing such a man, President Trump is delivering them high explosives, served up hot and spicy, no down payment required. Operation Epic Fury has seen the Supreme Leader rendered inert, most of the Revolutionary Guard reduced to spare parts, and government buildings and military installations razed to ground level. The Iranian Navy is now the Iranian Fish Habitat. The Iranian air force's aircraft are each scattered over a wide area and are, at last reports, still smoking. The rest of the nations of the Middle East are now thinking back on the many times, since 1979, that the mullahs threw their weight around, and these other nations aren't inclined to be forgiving - and they aren't intimidated.

There's no substitute for leadership, and Barack Obama and Joe Biden serve as staggering proof of that. So does President Trump, but in quite a different way.

These attacks, this lashing out at the other Persian Gulf states, may well be the last acts of desperate men. But they miscalculated; turns out the other Gulf states don't care if it's the first act of Henry V; they aren't backing down. Not anymore.

Editor's Note: For decades, former presidents have been all talk and no action. Now, Donald Trump is eliminating the threat from Iran once and for all.
