Biden's Border Blunder: Paying Traffickers to 'Sponsor' Vulnerable Kids

More information is coming out of the ongoing testimony of Director of Homeland Security Kristi Noem to the Senate Judiciary Committee. While these things can sometimes drag out into minutia and become yawn-inducing, today's session certainly is not. One of the bigger reveals from Secretary Noem was the revelation that the Biden administration, through either carelessness or incompetence (or both), may well have been funding child traffickers.

Yes, really.

Secretary Noem said:

(inaudible) in order to host these children. And these sponsors, many times, we found instances where they trafficked these children themselves. So under that (Biden) administration, we not only had children that were in this country as a part of a program, the government was paying individuals that were knowingly trafficking them and abusing them. That has stopped. We have gone through and found this children, and put them back with their families, when we have had the opportunity to do so, and with loved ones who will care for them. I would say that even in one case we have other countries where we've been working with them to get their children back home, where we've been prevented from returning these families back and helping them to be reunified, by activist judges. But we will continue to work to ensure these individuals and these children that were abused by the trafficking over the border, have the opportunity to be brought back to their families and to their loved ones going forward.

The real eye-opener here is the assertion that the Biden administration was paying for these kids to be trafficked.

It's tempting to be charitable and write this off to simple incompetence on the part of the Biden administration, but the more that comes out about the Autopen presidency, the harder it is to be charitable. There's an old saying that goes along the lines of "never attribute to malice that which can be explained by incompetence," but that saying fails to embrace the power of "and." It's hard not to see the efforts of Democrats on the issue of illegal immigration and all the crime that open borders allow - like trafficking children - for what it was, a blatant and obvious attempt to skew the census counts, which at the moment include people in the country illegally, to ensure more Democrat House districts and more Democrat presidential electors in the post-2030 census world.

But paying child traffickers? That's a new low. In this exact instance, given the rampant fraud committed by people taking advantage of federal money-dumps, it's likely that there was a big dollop of incompetence involved. After all, if there is anything the Biden administration was known for, from daffy old Joe on down, it was incompetence. But allowing things like this, along with the flood of illegal aliens over an open border, in an attempt to gain a semi-permanent Democrat majority in the House? That's not incompetence. That's malice.
