Never let it be said that President Trump doesn't know how to get the left spun up in a tizzy. Granted, yanking the left's chains is a good thing to do, every day and twice on Sunday for good measure. But President Trump has been giving us some master classes.
This new year that we are on the cusp of is presenting him with new opportunities, as we enter into the nation's 250th anniversary celebrations. The president intends to make it an event for the ages, including the construction of a triumphal arch in the District of Columbia.
🚨 WOW! President Trump just showed off to the entire room his plans to build a triumphal arch monument for America's 250th birthday - set to be located near the Arlington Memorial Bridge

On Wednesday, President Trump revealed that the construction of the arch will begin within two months - and announced a proposed name for the structure.
President Donald Trump revealed Wednesday how soon an Arc de Triomphe-style monument will be constructed in the nation's capital to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary in 2026.
Trump on Wednesday said the construction of the monument, nicknamed the "Arc de Trump," will begin "sometime in the next two months," according to a report from Politico.
"It hasn’t started yet. It starts sometime in the next two months. It’ll be great. Everyone loves it," Trump reportedly told the outlet during a phone call from Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla. "They love the ballroom too. But they love the Triumphal Arch."
Heck with nicknames. Let's just go ahead and make that the official name. Imagine the fits of spleen the nation's leftists would have over the "Arc de Trump" standing in our capital, to be ranked as places to visit, alongside the Washington, Lincoln, and Jefferson Monuments/Memorials. This would send the left into dizzying fits of Trump Derangement Syndrome the likes of which we have not yet seen. This would catapult the stages of TDS to Stage V, possibly Stage VI, including such symptoms as grand mal seizures, foaming at the mouth, and sudden attacks of St. Vitus's Dance.
Here's the best part:
The newest monument, which resembles Paris' historic Arc de Triomphe, will be bankrolled privately, with funds left over from the new White House ballroom project, Fox News Digital previously reported.
So they can't even point to this as a waste of the taxpayers' money.
There is, I suspect, a method to all this showmanship. We saw it in Trump's first term, too, most notably with the "mean tweet" habit he had. The president has a way of announcing something like this while working behind the scenes on other things; in effect, he points and yells "SQUIRREL!" The left and the legacy media (but I repeat myself) run off to look for arboreal rodents, while the president is busily making deals, scratching off regulations, and just generally doing the important stuff to Make America Great Again.
Why not, then, let the man have his name on the arch? It may well end up being Donald Trump's most lasting thumb in the eye of the American left, so may as well make it a good one.
Editor's Note: President Trump is leading America into a triumphant "Golden Age" as Democrats try desperately to stop it.
