While stationed in Germany in 1996-1997, I was fortunate enough to be there for that country's famous Christmas markets, in Heidelberg and Nuremberg. These are very festive events, full of great Christmas decorations, merchandise, really great food and drink, and so forth. It's a thing that the Germans do really well and is enjoyed by Germans and Western visitors.
However, some of the hordes of Third World "migrants" Germany has allowed in over recent years aren't so taken by these festive events. In fact, some seek to destroy them, just as they seek to destroy Western civilization.
On Sunday, we learned that five "migrants" have been arrested for plotting to carry out a vehicle attack on the people attending a Christmas market.
Five men have been arrested in Germany suspected of being involved in a plot to drive a vehicle into people at a Christmas market.
Three Moroccans, an Egyptian and a Syrian were detained on Friday over the plan to target a market in the southern Bavarian state. Authorities said they suspected an "Islamist motive".
Prosecutors said the Egyptian - a 56-year-old - was alleged to have "called for a vehicle attack... with the aim of killing or injuring as many people as possible". The Moroccans allegedly agreed to carry out the attack.
It's not known how or when these five goblins entered Germany, but one of them had been there long enough to become an imam at a local mosque.
Authorities did not say when the planned attack was supposed to take place or which market was the target, though said they believed it to be one in the Dingolfing-Landau area, north east of Munich.
German newspaper Bild reported the Egyptian man was an imam at a mosque in the area.
Police said the Moroccan men - aged 30, 28 and 22 - were arrested accused of having agreed to commit murder, while the Syrian man, a 37-year-old, was accused of encouraging the suspects "in their decision to commit the crime".
All five remain in custody pending hearings.

On the one hand, we should congratulate the sharp work done by the German security services and, no doubt, the Polizei, for uncovering this plot and stopping it. We remember all too well last year's attack on another Christmas market in Magdeburg, where many were injured and killed; this recent uncovered plot bears an uncanny resemblance to that event. This could have been worse, but fortunately, it was discovered and stopped in time. This, of course, raises the question: How many more of these plots are in the works in the German cities, right now?
Which brings us to the other hand: Germany itself bears part of the blame for this. Idiotic "asylum" policies have invited these people in for years now. And it's not just Germany; how many major European cities now have Islamic "no-go" zones? How many Islamist terror attacks have happened in Europe in the last few years?
And, lest we forget, these kinds of people are here, too; the recent, unlamented Biden administration welcomed them in by the thousand. And just this weekend, we saw what sure looks like an Islamist terror attack in Australia, as well as a drive-by shooting at a Hanukkah symbol in California.

This goes well beyond Germany. Western civilization is at a major juncture in history, and the enemy is already inside the city walls.
