Antisemitism is a growing problem on American college campuses. That seems a bit odd, since universities are supposed to be all about "diversity, equity, inclusion" and all that woke horse squeeze. But that inclusion doesn't apply where Jews are concerned, or so it seems.

Earlier on Friday, RedState's own Susie Moore brought us the disturbing story of a Harvard Law guest professor from Brazil who went on a "rat-hunting" excursion with a pellet gun, and it sure looked a lot like he was trying to intimidate the members of a nearby synagogue.

Susie wrote:

Wednesday evening, as Yom Kippur, the holiest of Jewish holidays, was getting underway, Harvard visiting professor Carlos Portugal Gouvea of Brazil allegedly fired a pellet gun outside of a Brookline synagogue. Gouvea, 43, reportedly later told law enforcement that he was "hunting rats." Gouvea is a Harvard Law School alum and an associate professor at the University of São Paulo Law School.

Per the Harvard Crimson, Gouvea was placed on administrative leave following the incident. Harvard, of course, has faced its own issues with antisemitism, and this latest incident won't help its cause.

It seems like every stronghold of the American left, not excluding the once-prestigious Ivy League schools, has become a hotbed of antisemitism.

Now, the guest professor, one Carlos Portugal Gouvea, has been detained by Immigration & Customs Authority (ICE) and has agreed to self-deport to Brazil. In short, he's being sent back.

That's good news; we certainly don't need antisemitic nutcases here in the United States. We have enough of those already. And Harvard University clearly needs to take a good, hard look at its processes for recruiting guest professors.
