Fox News reports:

The FBI released images of a person of interest in the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk on Thursday.

"We are asking for the public's help identifying this person of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University," the account for the FBI's Salt Lake City, Utah office wrote on X.

Law enforcement have been on a manhunt for the shooter for roughly 24 hours, and investigators say they have "good video footage" of the suspect.

Judging from what has been reported so far, there seems to be a considerable amount of physical evidence left at the scene.

As RedState's own Bonchie reported earlier on Thursday, the evidence includes:

  • A "high-powered, bolt-action rifle," possibly a commercial hunting rifle
  • A footwear impression
  • A palm print
  • Forearm imprints
  • The ammunition that remained in the rifle, including the empty casing from the one shot fired
  • Video, including what is described as "high quality" video of the assassin

We're all hoping for a quick conclusion to this investigation, that conclusion being an arrest. We'll be watching for further developments.
