Attorney General Pam Bondi has taken a good, hard look at the Justice Department's budget and is making some changes. The Justice Department is, as promised, moving ahead with transferring discretionary funds away from DEI and other woke nonsense and moving them to a more appropriate use: Enforcing the law.
The Justice Department (DOJ) is moving funds formerly granted to groups supporting transgender ideology and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives to law enforcement, Fox News Digital has confirmed.
A Justice Department official told Fox News Digital that the DOJ, under Attorney General Pam Bondi's watch, will "not waste" funds on DEI.
"Waste" is, if anything, something of an understatement. This is a gross misappropriation of taxpayer funds.
"The Department of Justice under Pam Bondi will not waste discretionary funds on DEI passion projects that do not make Americans safer," the official told Fox News Digital. "We will use our money to get criminals off the streets, seize drugs, and in some cases, fund programs that deliver a tangible impact for victims of crime."
Democrats will, no doubt, argue that somehow hiring and promotional practices based on melanin content, plumbing, and choice of bedroom companions "makes America safer," which is one of the most laughably dumb political arguments since whatever was the last thing Mazie Hirono (D-HI) said.
It is belaboring the obvious to the ninth power to note that enforcing the law is the purpose of the Justice Department and the Attorney General. It would be great to see a few more arrests taking place, but we have seen some great ones - most notably a couple of defiant judges - and we can hope for more of that sort. Nobody is above the law, after all, unless they are leftists and the law is being enforced by Democrats; historically, having a "D" behind one's name has been the world's greatest Get Out of Jail Free card. That's changing now.
DEI is, of course, a complete and utter violation of a legal principle that AG Bondi is surely aware of: Equal protection under the law.

What's more, AG Bondi appears to have a clear eye on her purpose:
After her first month as attorney general, Bondi told Fox News Digital that the DOJ was "arresting violent terrorists, dismantling cartel networks, and rooting DEI out of American institutions."
"We will continue working day in and day out to deliver on President Trump’s Make America Safe Agenda," Bondi said.
All of this "Diversity, Equity & Inclustion" horse squeeze is one of the dumbest things that the American left has ever come up with, and bear in mind, "dumb things the American left has come up with" is a pretty impressive list; it makes "War and Peace" look like an manual for the care and feeding of a pet rock. But things are changing, it's sure looking like the general public has had enough of this nonsense.
To AG Bondi, I would only say this: Great job so far, but there are lots of crooks, criminals, and scofflaws out there that desperately need a pair of chrome-steel bracelets. Don't wait for the funding to be moved from DEI to enforcement. Let's get cracking! Make America safe again.
