Alaskans: This Is All You Need to Know About Senator Lisa Murkowski

The Great Land has had a visitor, a notorious former Congresswoman who came to praise a notorious current Senator. The former would be Liz Cheney; the latter, Princess Lisa Murkowski (R-AK). Cheney has come to Alaska to sing the praises of Princess Lisa and to loudly proclaim that the GOP deserves to lose control of Congress next year.

That, folks, tells you all you need to know about Liz Cheney - and Princess Lisa Murkowski. Must Read Alaska's Suzanne Downing has the details:

In Anchorage this week, former House Rep. Liz Cheney told an audience of Trump haters that only Sen. Lisa Murkowski is a good senator for Alaska. Apparently, she is not so keen on Sen. Dan Sullivan and she said that Republicans deserve to lose the majorities in the House and Senate.

“You have one good senator,” she said, after complimenting Murkowski profusely, and giving a backhand to Sullivan, who is up for reelection in 2026.

We do have one good senator. And we also have Lisa Murkowski, thanks in no small part to the idiotic ranked-choice voting system that will be on the 2026 ballot for repeal again. In 2024, we missed winning the recall by a few hundred votes despite having been outspent ten-to-one, mostly by money from Outside. We'll keep trying.

Here's the onion:

Cheney was paid over $151,000 by the University of Alaska Anchorage to travel to Alaska to trash Republicans as part of the university’s public lecture series. She spent an hour on stage with former NPR reporter Elizabeth Arnold, who asked her softball questions.

The university was effusive in its praise of Cheney, in this promotional note prior to her arrival: “Former Congresswoman Liz Cheney is at the fulcrum in our political divide. Displaying courage, discipline, and integrity in the wake of a national crisis, Cheney’s actions during her last term in Congress laid bare her commitment to country and democracy over politics—and they pose new questions about the future of the American two-party system. Hear Cheney tell the stories of how she arrived at her personal convictions, her remarkable career in Congress, and the road that lies ahead. Her insight into policy, principled leadership, and the future of bipartisanship is unparalleled.”

This, of course, is how these people continue to grow ever richer, even after leaving office. $151,000 for an hour on stage, returning fluff questions? That's a great gig if you can get it.

Liz Cheney and Princess Lisa Murkowski are two peas in one RINO pod. The main difference is that, while the people of Wyoming spewed Liz Cheney out of their mouths, Princess Lisa manages to hang on in the Great Land; she has survived primary challenges, and even won an election as a write-in candidate when she wasn't even on the ballot.

To give the devil her due, she's a survivor. But, for Alaska Republicans, that resounding endorsement from Liz Cheney should be revealing, for anyone who wasn't always aware of Princess Lisa's RINO tendencies.
