Sometimes, you look at an X thread, started (almost always) by a clueless leftist, and wonder just what the heck they were thinking. Or, perhaps, not thinking, as when one of them gets something catastrophically wrong, as in, blaming one administration for the acts of the previous administration, thereby stepping on a certain protuberance in front of the whole world when about six seconds on Google could have told them the truth.
Case in point: Congressman Greg Casar (D-TX), who took to X to lambaste the Trump administration for dumping $400 million in taxpayer's money into Teslas.
Donald Trump’s State Department tried to funnel $400 million to Elon Musk’s Tesla.

They got caught. Then they lied about it.
This isn't efficiency -- it's corruption.https://t.co/LsXf3GyPFb
The problem? The Tesla deal was the Biden administration's baby. Trump had nothing to do with it. No money ever changed hands. (Maybe Tesla wouldn't agree to a 10 percent takeoff for "the Big Guy.") Tesla's own CEO, Elon Musk, replied and, as my grandfather would have said, laid a whoopin' on the clueless Texas Democrat.
Greg Casar is a big fat liar 🤥 pic.twitter.com/U2r17IuYcX

Now, as if getting called out as a "big fat liar" by Elon Musk wasn't enough, all of X leaped on the Texas Congressman like a pack of wolverines tearing apart a moose carcass.
You are keep lying about everything these Tesla contract started in 2022 because the insane Green new deal you guys preach about. here's the source https://t.co/6LpDy0ww6u pic.twitter.com/laIqiIbKHL

Honestly, Congressman Casar could have looked it up himself. In, like I said, maybe six seconds. To Greg Casar, we can only say this: There's this new thing all the kids are doing, Congressman, it's called "the internet," and it allows you to look things up without having to get in your car and drive to the library. You should look into it.
But wait! There's more!
It was Biden State Department that issued that contract.

Trump asserted he has no intention of following through on it.
You are an idiot and a liar.

Hilarious! Taking a break from defending the @DNC's USAID theft of Billions of tax dollars... Desperate America-hating, Marxist Islamist serial liar @RepCasar is so pathetic that he forgets to mention it was a Biden contract!https://t.co/F63otpQ3Js

Oh, look - just as I was saying:
Congressman you are young, I'm sure you know about technology. All you need to do, or advise your staff to do, before putting something out like this is fact check in AI. You can use Perplexity or ChatGPT if you hate Elon/X/Grok. pic.twitter.com/Qzjehq1Oix

This is a serious case of "open mouth, insert foot." But Tesla, a year ago the darling of the left for their "emissions-free" automobiles, has become the favorite target of the left's corruption claims because the company's CEO had the temerity to disagree with the leftist swamp.
My colleague Nick Arama did a couple of great pieces on this non-contract:

There is a (apocryphal) phrase often attributed to Abraham Lincoln — a Republican president, in fact, the first Republican president — that Rep. Casar would do well to consider. That quote is:
It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.
Take that to heart, Congressman — if you can, from that adjacent continent you just got ratioed into.
