The campaign of Kamala "Queen of Word Salads" and Tim "Great Walz of China" sure seem to have a lot of connections to China. These connections seem to go a lot deeper than Tim Walz's endless trips to China, although nobody seems to know exactly how many trips he took to the Middle Kingdom aside from his honeymoon there. It's unclear if that trip was where Mrs. Walz picked up her fondness for the smell of burning tires.
But those connections go deeper than just Tim Walz's odd vacation preferences. A Chinese-owned electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, BYD Americas, was the recipient of some significant taxpayer dollars from the Harris/Biden administration - and now it looks as though that favor has been returned.
The whole thing, of course, was done in the name of reducing carbon emissions - or, if we're being real about how EVs work, relocating those carbon emissions.
Vice President Kamala Harris's billion-dollar Clean School Bus program provided funding to Chinese EV manufacturer BYD Company's subsidiary in the United States, according to federal filings reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon. Months later, the subsidiary's top executive, a Chinese national, wired $50,000 in support of what is now Harris's presidential campaign.
BYD Americas was selected in late 2022 to receive $395,000 under the administration's Clean School Bus program, which was spearheaded by Harris and EPA administrator Michael Regan, EPA documents show. That funding was disbursed in May 2023, six months before Li's donations to the Biden-Harris campaign, according to the EPA.
The company applied for federal funding to supply an electric bus to Princeton Joint Unified School District located in northern California.
OK, now take a careful look at the language here. The company applied for and was awarded this funding - here's the receipt - $395,000 to "supply an electric bus." That's in the singular. One bus. For almost $400k. Your tax dollars at work. That must be some magic bus, with such a fancy price tag.
Here's the onion:
BYD Americas's president, Ke Li, then donated $25,000 to the Biden Victory Fund (now the Harris Victory Fund), $18,400 to the Democratic National Committee, but earmarked for the Biden Victory Fund, and a maximum individual contribution of $6,600 to the Biden campaign (now the Harris campaign), according to FEC filings reviewed by the Free Beacon. Li made each contribution on the same day: Nov. 14, 2023. President Joe Biden's $96 million campaign war chest was transferred to Harris's campaign in July after Biden withdrew from the presidential race.
There's an old German proverb: Eine Hand wäscht die andere - "One hand washes the other," which sure seems a lot like what's going on here.
The first layer to peel off is the donations. Foreign nationals aren't supposed to be able to donate to political campaigns, for reasons that should be obvious. But there is evidently a loophole in the law for certain resident aliens, and Ke Li has a "right of abode" in the United States, which bypasses that restriction.
The second layer of this is the fact that BYD Americas is one of several Chinese EV manufacturers that is currently under investigation by Congress for - you guessed it - espionage concerns.
Senators Marsha Blackburn (R., Tenn.) and Gary Peters (D., Mich.), chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, in a letter on Wednesday asked Chinese automakers to disclose any ties they have to the Chinese government.
And (emphasis mine:)
The letter was sent to Geely Holding, Great Wall Motors Group, SAIC Motor, Chery Automobile, FAW Group, Dongfeng Motor, BYD, and the GAC Group.
The program under which BYD received this money is part of the 2021 Infrastructure Act; the Clean School Bus program allocated five billion in taxpayer dollars for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), an agency, I'd like to note, that does not have a Constitutional authorization to even exist, to hand out in the name of producing "emissions-free" school buses.
And now we know that some of that money went to a Chinese company that then passed some of it back along to the Harris/Walz campaign.

One hand washes the other.
And, I remind you, this is all done in the name of reducing carbon emissions - in other words, in the name of climate change. Like Solyndra - remember Solyndra? All this is another great example of what happens when government grows out of control. When the government is this big, this overbearing, this out of control, the opportunities for graft likewise grow out of control too - and the attraction to people who are seeking that kind of graft grows out of control along with it.
That's where you get the federal government sending almost $400k to a Chinese company for one magic bus and that same company shoveling campaign contributions to the politicians who made the funding happen.
One hand washes the other.
This seems appropriate.
